Okay, I have been on MFP for years and only really used this site for tracking food. I never really went into the community section of this website. I just started back at my 5x5 and I have been doing them more off than on in the past year. I feel alone doing this and thought I would just start a discussion board where we can just check in daily. I tried keeping a journal to myself but then again, I just felt lonely.
I am still new at lifting and thought we could use this to help each other with tips and help keep us accountable. I guess sort of like a live journal.
I just started this week ( I am on day 4) eating cleaner food and started back at the gym yesterday. In the past, I have gone low carb with great success but I was miserable and extremely unhealthy. I was losing my hair and had absolutely no energy. That just will not work this time, so I decided that I would just change the way I eat and not go on a diet. Plus, I am going to need the energy at the gym. I was able to do my normal squats and Deadlift yesterday as I don't need a spotter for those but for my OHP, I was able to do 50lbs on my own but had to do the 70lbs with the machine. I can't do those with a spotter . I used to work out with my husband but now that he works later, I am all by myself in the gym. I also took the dreaded before picture as I am going to use pictures for progress updates rather than the scale.

Hi @italian_xx79 ! That is awesome that you are back in the gym again! I am one of those more off then on people too, sigh. So that is why I am happy I found this group for support and the accountability. I post my workouts in the monthly thread, which for this month is called April Presses bring May Dresses & also this week a new 16 weeks of Strength Building has started, so I joined that thread too! It will be interesting to see what progress I has been made in the next 16 weeks0

Hi 5minty! I did see the April Presses thread and I posted in there last night but I didn't want to be rude and post in that thread everyday. If it is okay to do that, I would love to join the monthly thread here under Strong lifts forum.0

totally do that. and post whether you 'did it' or not. it's just a nice place to check in and fist-bump or sulk or whatever, it's not exclusive.

LOL - I am often sulking and fist-bumping in the same post2 -
I am still so sore from the other day that I can barely walk around at work! I am getting a lot of strange looks, lol! I was going to go back again tonight, but I do not think I can do the squats again since I can barely sit in my chair. Rows and chest tonight! Squats tomorrow morning!1

I second everyone else's comment Italiana! Please feel free to join either or both. Even though I post to the 16 week strength building thread, I try to keep up with the monthly thread also. I just felt like to much of an amateur to participate at first. But now it's just matter of keeping the momentum that we started. I love reading all the fabulous ladies post.0
