Joining this group to study and research some heavy lifting. I just got my gym membership going today. I did treadmill for 30 some minutes and went more than a mile but I lost my data because I pressed pause by mistake instead of alternating the info on mileage and such.
I did some upper body circuit machines but there is a squat rack and much other machine. So excited. I have an accountability buddy(my bff since high school) for cardio for sure. I'll get her into lifting I think. Or do that while she commutes to the gym she lives 20-30 minutes from me. I have the app but other than will just dig in reading all these threads to figure it out. I'm just starting and more than 100 lbs overweight so it is going to be a journey but I easily rowed and shoulder pressed 40 lbs.

I did the leg machines today and my friend commented on how strong my legs are. I thought well duh I've been carrying around this weight pretty much for 6 years now. Eventually I'll be brave and use the squat rack and get this SL stuff going for real. We did 30 minutes on treadmill then a few machines. I walk a bit faster than her so did just under a mile and half which is by no means great but better than nothing.2
