How come on my fitbit app, it says that I burned 798 call during a walk/hike today, but on mfp it only logs as 443? Can I/Should I add the calories manually on mfp?

If your devices are synced, you don't get credit for all the calories burned. You begin getting credit for calories when you exceed the calorie burn MFP assumes for the activity level you chose. So if you tell MFP you are "lightly active," you begin getting extra calories at the point in the day when you have moved more than is assumed for a "lightly active" person. This keeps you from double-dipping into the calorie burn.

Plus doesn't fitbit account for your BMR as well, and mfp only counts the actual exercise??

The "Fitbit Calorie Adjustment" isn't just the calories you burn during deliberate exercise. It is the calories that Fitbit says you burned that are over and above the calories MFP expected you to burn. You can see the math that MFP uses to calculate your adjustment by clicking the little 'i' next to the adjustment on the exercise page (web site). You can get the same info on the mobile app as well just by touching it.

For better understanding of how Fitbit and MFP work together, I'd recommend reading the FAQ found in the stickies. Here's a handy link: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10098937/faq-syncing-logging-food-exercise-calorie-adjustments-activity-levels-accuracy/p1
