    8th: 6.5 miles purposeful walking - MTD 50.45
    9th: 9.8 miles purposeful walking, 2.2 m run - MTD 62.45

    ETA it's been a busy day today. Started with my run, then breakfast with my 17 mth old grandson before I took him to Nursery. Then a lovely walk with DH along a beautiful sunny promenade to our favourite cafe. Back to pick up the youngest grandson, 14.5 mths old. Walked with him to the Bouncy Castle Play space and had a late lunch. Walked him home as he napped. Then back to my home. Worn Out!!

    Grey rainy day, but not terrible. Most of my walking ended up indoors, but I was able to get out between showers once. Added 4 miles for a may total of 34.6 miles

    Well, the 8th started out really lovely as I was at the community garden for a shift and to do some planting. Then I was trying to sneak a bike ride in for another group challenge and did something very much my own fault. I ran into a parked trailer, face planted over my handle bars and put my teeth through my top lip. I have one broken front tooth that I'm going to go see a dentist today to see if its as simple as I think (partial crown) or more complex for the fix. Good thing is that my bike is okay. Sigh. I really sometimes feel like I'm moving into a second childhood and having accidents that should have happened ever so long ago. I don't know if its just not being self aware as much now that I'm older or what.

    Hey friends, I'm back from California at last. Among other things I was camping for several days and I was feeling sorry for Dave that he would have to do all the updating alone while I was off the grid. But what do you know, I came back to find that both Holli and Denise showed up to help him. How wonderful and mysterious is that?

    @Clepant - congratulations on the PR! I love the PR bell!!

    @ Leanz - sadly I didn't realize the London ballot was open while I was away and now it is closed. Chances are I wouldn't have been selected anyway, but I do love London. Good luck to you if you entered.

    According to fitbit, I walked a million miles while I was away, but I only count "purposeful" miles toward my goal so I have a lot of catching up to do. I did get in a couple of glorious runs on the beach so I'm not starting from zero at least. Hope you are having a grand month of May!
