My hair has started falling out at an alarming rate
It's always been thin and prone to breaking, but now I'm pulling handfuls out every time I have a shower and my housemates keep complaining that they find it around the house. I don't know what to do!
I'm pretty certain it's hormonal as I've been having eczema flare-ups this week as well, and some spotting even though it's only 2 weeks since my last TOM. I'm also quite stressed as I have exams, job interviews and house hunting to juggle at the moment!
Has anyone had a similar issue? Should I try a supplement like Biotin? Please help, I don't want to be bald in a fortnight!

@UMDavies - Get your thyroid levels checked, ASAP. That's a huge red flag. And not just the standard TSH test. Get the antibodies tests done. They can show evidence of thyroid problems 10+ years before it will reflect on your standard panel, particularly with PCOS, ask it can mask the hormonal deficiencies.
Biotin won't do as much for new hair growth as most think. I think it was in the low carb forum that we had discussions on this lately, but I can't remember for sure. Getting off wheat/gluten was a huge help for most, incorporating stress managing techniques was also important, getting enough sleep, making sure you aren't cutting fats (which are crucial to balanced hormones), etc.
Someone recommended the supplement grouping listed here as helping stop her hair falling out as fast - but not with regrowth as of 3 months in. http://www.prevention.com/beauty/supplements-reverse-thinning-hair?cid=soc_Prevention Magazine - preventionmagazine_FBPAGE_Prevention__
Slowing down weight loss speed (if you're losing) and making sure you get enough protein (to strengthen and build new hair) are also very important!
Oh, and vitamin deficiencies can play in: "Any vitamin deficiency will cause hair loss. All the vitamins are important -- B, C, E," says Carolyn Jacob, MD, founder and medical director of Chicago Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology." (That was from a Web MD article, "Hair Myths and Facts" that someone shared, but didn't link.) Other suggestions were including collagen in your dietary intake, and food grade diatomaceous earth.
