I drank so much water yesterday ( 6.5 bottles) that I lived in the bathroom most of the day lol But I ate so crappy over the weekend and didn't poop for 3 days (TMI I know ) so I took a dulcolax, drank butt loads of water and flushed all that stuff out of my system and woke up to a new low on the scale finally ! May not last but oh well lol Also did day 4 of Level 2 of the shred! Macros were perfect time, stayed under my calorie goal...BOOM

@Nadiamayl Whoa!! Veins are awesome! Love this list.. I have lost an average 2 year old, or 5 chihuahuas.. lol. Either one is fantastic hahaaa..
@heatherc369 Good job on your macros yesterday! Also water is sooooo important.. it's actually kinda ridiculous how easy it is for me to get behind on water and stay dehydrated. Doing much better on that these days since I'm tracking it too.

So I have a confession. I am FINALLY quitting smoking. I know how dumb it was for me to be smoking anyway with all my history but it was my last stand, the last truly horrendous habit I allowed myself to hold onto through everything else. And well... it's time for it to go too. I have no idea what kind of saint I will be without all these bad habits anymore..lol. I just hope I can still swear after this.. haha! I'm on day two and kicking so much kitten.. but my logging and being aware of my food is going to be so important to keeping my fitness on track. So.. there it is. I'll most likely be posting small updates on this aspect as well as eating and exercise because it's all connected for me.

So yesterday I ate pretty on point, I went slightly over my cal goals but nothing too crazy. I went to the gym and had an awesome workout. I increased my jog time on my treadmill walk by 10 minutes and was surprised that my heart rate was recovering pretty quickly. I'm definitely noticing a major improvement in my cardio.. now that I'm quitting smoking should be epic.

Hope you all have a great day!!!! I'll be checking in later with my update.

@Kerryatoon I do really bad with drinking water, or anything for that matter normally a couple 16.9 oz bottles a day is the norm do this is big for me! Congrats on the quitting smoking! I'm 6 months smoke free, so hard after smoking for 20 years !

@NadiaMayI That list is crazy! I have lost a 5000BTU Air Conditioner! If you ever go on ilostwhat.com it does this when you type in your name and weight lost and gives you a little picture of "what you lost'. And I think this list may be the same one the site uses because I actually went on earlier and it said the same thing for 55lbs lost. I posted it on IG

I did day 5 of Level 2 of the shred today! Drank plenty and macros were on point !

@kerryatoon whoa, way to go! Quitting smoking is hard! I did it, 3-4 times... I used to smoke 2 packs a day back in the day... I quit a few tims, cold turkey, and my last was before getting preggers with monkey #1... Haven't smoked since, but I'm not gonna lied, I had cravings well into my 3rd year after... Obviously, the hardest were the first few months, and then it tapered off... You can do this!

I played some soccer with monkey #2 this afternoon, but not much else... Got my 10,000 minimum on stores... Eating.... Blagh.... I don't sleep when Major Monkey is out of town.,. (Wimp), so, I'm surfing on 4-5 hours of sleep a night, which I can no longer sustain!!
I guess that means I better head to bed! ;)

Oh wow you guys! You both encourage me so much!!! I am glad to hear that you both tackled this beast too. I'm kinda dying here but I have a lot of support in another online community and I'm just taking it one day at a time. Tonight is a gym night.. I'm still really sore from Monday so not sure If I'm going. Gonna see how I feel when I get home. So glad I have this eating/exercise thing in place already because it would be so much harder to quit smoking if I was just stuffing my face all day.. gaining weight was always one of my fears in quitting. Also working out makes me feel SO AMAZING that I have a great alternative that I know feels great. Looking forward to hearing how the rest of your week is going ladies!
@heatherc369 you're doing awesome at the shred!!! WAY TO GO!
@Nadiamayl good job on your steps and get your kitten some sleep

Eating was on point, drank like 96 oz of water lol Got my shred on .....it's 8pm and I'm ready for bed lol

@heatherc369 good job with all the water drinking and shredding!
I woke up soooooooooooo tired today that by the life of me, I couldn't make it to the gym... Even though I dressed the part. Ran around trying to find cheap computer monitors to set my husband's workspace in the home office (failed), groceries, monkey #1 had a 'black light show' as his music class performance at school, soccer tryouts (again) for monkey #2, dinner, bills, cleaning disaster areas, done. Almost 15,000 steps, so, I'll take that! Hope to sleep soon to recover and go to Barbell in the morning!

LOL!! That is hilarious!! NOPE if I wanted to smoke I would find a way around that.. lol! I'm just gonna do it :) You know when I was doing the TDEE calculators a lot of them would say "if you live an active lifestyle, ie: have kids.. don't ever call yourself sedentary.) I think we can all say this is 100% TRUE. @heatherc369 That's good for water! Did you feel any different or better?

Well I had a reaaaallly late night last night spent some time with a friend until about 8:30 then went to the gym late.. loved how empty it was!! Then I still had to eat when I got home.. going to have to work out my schedule to be more reasonable but glad I went to the gym and ate on point yesterday. Here was my workout:

    Treadmill: Jog 10 minutes
    Squat: 5x5 80lb
    BB Row: 5x5: 45lb
Bench: 2x5 70lb, 3x5 65lb (had to deload.. my spotter had to help with last rep @70)
    Face pulls: 5x10 30lb
    Cable crunch: 3x13 100lb
Assist chin-up: 2x5 (76lb assist) So I guess this means I'm lifting 71lbs of my own weight..
Assist dips: 2x5 (70lb assist) 77.5lb of my weight

ALSO DID NOT SMOKE!!!! Feeling accomplished!

I'm just wondering, you mean you're squatting in the box with a barbell loaded to 80lbs??!!??!! You're my hero! Hehehe, I can barely manage 20lbs squats at barbell squats.
  • Kerryatoon
    Kerryatoon Posts: 374 Member
Lol.. @NadiaMayl yeah I'm using the squat racks, not the smith machines, with a 45lb bar + 35lb of plates. So 80lb total :) I started with the 35lb bar 4 weeks ago.. so its possible!

Ha. I just learned something new, I didn't know you are supposed to count the weight of the bar itself. I use 20lbs loaded (10lbs x2) for squats, plus whatever the bar weighs. I think the ones they use for barbell class are lighter than the free weight ones (the Olympic bars, I think they're called)!!! Ok, I don't feel that wimpy, then!!!! :P you're still my hero, though!!!

I think the mass influx in water is wgat I have to of thank for the sudden drop In weight , my body is finally not holding on to every drop that enters my Body for dear life lol I have been drinking 6-7 of the 16.9oz bottles of water a day when it used to be about 2 lol

Got my shred on, fitbit died before lunch ugh ...ate well....hoping my weight holds so I get a good weigh in tomorrow lol

@NadiaMayl yes ma'am! Count the bar!! You should ask what the bars weigh at your class so you'll know how much you're lifting! Yes I think the bro term for the 45lb bars are Oly bars..lol. Just figuring all this out too
@heatherc369 definitely water helps release what your poor body has been storing for the drought! Lol! Ya..chug chug chug!! I at pretty well today in spite of having to add in a few suckers and candy that I'm munch G in as a crutch for the smoking. Rest day on working out today and I'm pretty sore but my tiny muscles in my joints aren't aching like they were the first couple weeks.. I'm doing a lot more stretching throughout the day, especially my hip area. Helping tons! Yay for day 2 not smoking!!
You ladies keep up the awesome work! Let's crush the weigh/measure ins tomorrow!!!

I worked out double yesterday, a spin class and a barbell class for a total of 953 calories burned. So today was a day off from working out... However, I just got back from a 80s concert and danced for about 2 hours, I think that counts as a workout, I should've worn my heart rate strap!! Hahaha. The concert was a blast, I felt like I was 13 all over again!!! Hehe
Eating could've been a little better, but oh well.
Hubby also arrived today, after 2 weeks abroad, to a house with a sitter and a wife at a concert. Hahaha
    It was a good day!!

Nononono no noooooo.... Week 9 is upon us, WTH!?!?!

I dared and went closer to the scary free weights area yesterday.... The box still seemed really intimidating, plus all the bars were loaded with big *kitten* plates and I wasn't sure I'd be able to unload them myself.... Hahahaha. So I grabbed some of the preloaded weights and worked on my squats and rows, then I used an empty bar for bench presses.... But, hey I got into the scary gym area, that's progress in my book! Hehehehe

Lazy day today for me! Friend's kid bday party, so bit in the not so healthy food but I tried to choose the least worse!
Hope everyone's had a good weekend.

Hope you all are enjoying your holiday!

@NadiaMayl sounds like you had a RAD weekend.. lol :) What a way to get some exercise.. rockin out at an 80's concert! YAY For getting into the big mean scary free weights section! Just do you and before you know it you will be feeling right at home there.. with your veins popping out all over the place!
I kinda did not give one *ish* about my eating yesterday.. I was hungry so I ate. Pretty much ate good food but I feel like I ate a lot.. lol. Didn't track so no idea how i did but I needed a day where I could just not worry and eat. STILL SMOKE FREE!!!!!
Back on track today.. went to the gym and just got home to stuff my face with macros.. lol

Here was my workout for today:

Treadmill: Jog 5.2 mph 1 mile
    Squat: 5x5 85lb
    OH Press: 5x5 50lb
    Deadlift: 2x5 warmup 45lb, 3x5 75lb
    Face pulls: 4x12 40lb
    Upright Row: 4x12 20lb
    Assist chin-up: 3x5 (70lb assist) 77.5lb lifted
Assist dips: 3x5 (70lb assist) 77.5lb of my weight
    Hanging leg raises: 4x12

As soon as it cools off a bit my daughter and I are going to go rollerskating at the park.
Also, FYI, I refuse to get on the scale until next weekend... lol. I'm ok with that :)
