PCOS - weight loss?

Having "suffered" with PCOS for 15 years I am still none the wiser to how people have successful weight loss and was hoping some of you lovely ladies may shed some light? My weight has crept up over the years and am now at the most uncomfortable stage where I don't want to go out/don't want to see anyone/I struggle to get ready for work as I feel so uncomfortable and I certainly don't want my fiancé seeing me in anything less than pyjamas! Not very sexy! I am tired of people/doctors/professionals saying "try and lose a little weight" like that is a really simple task! There seems to be conflicting advice about diets / low GI plans, types of exercise, length of exercise and I soon become overloaded with information that I don't know where to start/what to listen to/what to ignore. So am looking for some REAL LIFE help and advice from you.

I'm super-late in replying to this, but I've had a good amount of luck in cutting out a lot of animal protein. I say "a lot" and not "all", because I like beef too much to give it up for good. However, making most of my meals plant-based, and switching to whole grains over enriched products, I've lost about twenty pounds so far - and that's without exercising. I know everyone is different, but this seems to be what works best for me. If you can find something that works for you, let us know!0
