Hi everyone, New member here!
I am 4 months PP for my 1st baby (girl!) Im starting to get serious about loosing weight. I didnt gain much during pregnancy but I was also 70lbs overweight pre-pregnancy. So now I am trying to loose this 70lbs by eating better and exercising. According to MFP I am consuming approx 2000 calories a day on average which is less then what they have alotted me. I am trying to maintain calorie intake due to my breastfeeding. Main exercise that I do is walking but once and a while can do stationary bike. Any recommendations on exercises I can do at home while baby is napping?
Also concerned about milk supply as my supply really dropped once when I was probably going to hard and not eating enough...
And has anyone else not lost weight while breastfeeding? It hasnt done anything for me.

Congratulations! I'm about 4 months pp and so far sticking with low intensity walking and yoga. My baby is a terrible sleeper and I just Sony have the energy for anything more than that!
Ha, I googled breastfeeding and weight loss early on as the mythical weight loss was not happening. It seems that there are lots of ladies who the weight does not drop off due to a combination of factors including hormones involved. Therefore I've decided I don't need those extra 500 calories a day that the lucky ladies do and have stuck to my calorie allowance mfp calculated. So far no issues with supply and lose about 1 to 2 pounds a week. Good luck!1 -
I am also 4 months pp today (oh that reminds me, I should probably take a photo of my little guy right? ). I use my Fitbit to gauge how much I should be eating. Otherwise, you can either add cals to the number MFP gives you (usually 300-500) or eat around maintenance to lose (if you know what that is). I was tracking for a bit but now just kind of eating intuitively (works for me but logging food is recommended if you aren't losing at this point).
Walking, yoga is great, I do some lifting (I have a home gym) if you have resistance bands they are fantastic for doing little exercises even when baby is playing next to you. Youtube has great workouts, Fitness Blender, I loved 30 Day Shred to get back into shape after my first since it was only 30 min and I could easily fit it in.0 -
10 months PP for this three time mom and I've never experienced the much hyped up breastfeeding weight loss (thanks a lot for getting my hopes up LLL lol). Honestly I think the women that does work out for probably are just eating less overall than the people who maintain or gain and they just anecdotally credit it to bfing which in reality doesn't burn THAT much.
I do at home strength training, kick-boxing, pilates and Insanity when my shrimps are in bed for the night. Diet has been the biggest factor in my weight loss though imo1
