Fitbit throwing away auto calories

I walked over 5 miles so far today. Didn't have GPS turned on but it was picked up via auto detect. I showed up, I looked at the stats and about hour or so later it vanished. The mileage and steps are still there but associated calorie vanished from the fit bit app and on my surge. This has happened two days in a row and it is maddening. Anyone else with a Surge have this happen?

It sounds like merely the Activity Record disappeared - which is merely a snapshot of the stats for a block of time - so they aren't just buried in the daily stats.
You can go create a manual Activity Record right now, app or website - if you know the start/stop time of the activity.
Then it'll show you all those stats again.
I'm betting it still shows calories for that block of time - so not lost.
And you just created what it creates for a workout.
As to why it's disappearing - no idea. does a simple button press say not to keep it on the watch? Which when synced would of course mean don't keep it in account either.
But again - that doesn't delete the info, merely the snapshot of it.0
