Hello everyone, I'm Steve, 51 and living with Fibromyalgia. I have had fibro only for about 2 years now.
The first year I couldn't work and tried every variation of painkillers possible, I was just a walking zombie lol, I decided to give the pain meds up, get back to work and live with this the best I could.
Over the space of one week I stopped all the meds ( I wouldn't recommend this by the way)and decided that however hard it was going to be I was going to take gentle exercise and shed some pounds..
At my heaviest I got to around 260 lbs but steadily I have got it down to 235 with MFP and I do feel better.
I meditate, live in the moment and try keep a positive mental attitude in life and I'm sure this helps too.

Thanks for having me.

Steve x

Welcome and well done, so pleased you've been able to give up the meds, I also have Fibro and tried giving them all up myself for a while but have realised I can't function with no meds at all so am trying lower doses to see if I can at least keep it to a low level. I've also just started regular exercise and am finding it really does help, I so didn't believe people at first because it really is hard to start with but now I'm more regular with it I'm seeing the results. So impressed with your weight loss with this difficult condition.

Morning, thank you for the warm welcome and I hope this is a good day for you.
Giving up the meds is very difficult but in my case I had a couple of motivating factors. The first was that to continue on the meds meant that I couldn't do my job, I work for the railway and there was no way that they would allow me to be on the tracks whilst on those kinds of powerful meds, secondly the meds were doing me more harm than good and causing liver issues. So really I had no choice.

Thanks again for taking the time to welcome me, have a great day and live in the moment.
