Ok, Ladies and Gentlemen, here we have our next challenge.
Its only a short one, but we're going to be visiting one of the world's most beautiful sites - Machu Picchu!
https://worldwalking.org/walks/explore/caxlml
In just two days, we aim to cover the 46.68 mile walk/climb up the now famous Inca trail to the ancient citadel in the Cusco region of Peru.
Abandoned at the time of the Spanish Inquest, it remained undiscovered until 1911, and since then, has proved a popular destination for ambitions walkers and climbers.
With rugged terrain but beautiful scenery, its bound to be a memorable walk!
If you'd like to join our team, please put your name into this spreadsheet: Machu Picchu
Its a team event, so it doesn't matter if you walk half a mile or ten, we're just happy to have you along.
However you work out your exercise, be it steps, miles, or minutes, add them to the sheet, and I'll tally up the result on Monday and post our results.
Happy Walking, friends.

Ok, I've added my steps. I had to take an educated estimate for my steps that I did on Saturday evening and Sunday morning as I didn't take my Fitbit charge lead when I stayed over at a friend's house, which annoyed me greatly. I checked a map, worked out the distance and added it that way.0

Added mine, I failed myself this weekend. Didn't reach my step goal either day0

You didn't fail, Arlene. You were active, you did exercise, that's always a win!1 -
So, we didn't quite make it all the way to the top of the mountain, but we're more than half the way there, so I added on yesterday and today's date to add your steps.
We made it so Saksayhuaman, which is a citadel on the northern outskirts of the city of Cusco, Peru, the historic capital of the Inca Empire. Sections were first built by the Killke culture about 1100; they had occupied the area since 900.
It may not look much at first, but this was a hugely important historical site in the Incan Empire, and provides us with a great opportunity to take a breather, rest our feet, and have a drink before we push on for Machu Picchu....
So, add your steps for yesterday and today, folks, and let's go for the finish line!0 -
