I'm starting week 4 of Stronglifts. Every week a different part of my body hurts during squats. At first it was the inner, bottom half of my quads, then it was my abs, now it's the little muscles (or tendons) that are at the ends of the v of my vag (I looked it up on a chart and maybe the correct name is the abductor longus). I've never felt any soreness in my butt or upper thighs. A part of me was thinking that my weaker muscles were working harder because they were catching up to my stronger muscles, but now I'm thinking my form might be off. Does anyone feel the squats as an ab workout? Is there any way to target the butt more? Just to clarify, this is soreness during the workout and there are no sharp pains during or after.

The squat IS a full body work out so if you are bracing your core, you may feel it there.
As for your bum, have you tried squeezing your glutes on the way up? When I do that, I feel it more.
Maybe post a form video and we can see if it is a form issue.0 -
not sure what you mean by 'sore'. sounds like it's not delayed onset soreness the next day or day after? for me, specific-location soreness during the workout usually means i'm not warmed/loosened up enough yet. there are millions of 'squat warmup' suggestions out there, so you might want to look through them for stuff that seems likely to help with your specific areas.
abs: i've definitely found it's an ab workout, but i don't think i remember my abs ever being a trouble spot during the sets. is it painful to brace your core? at a specific point in the rep?
glutes: mine don't usually feel anything either, if they're healthy. not till the next day i sometimes do this if i start to worry that i'm not properly using mine: i get a kettlebell or plate (easier counter balance) and hold it in front of me. then i go down to the bottom point of my squat and hold it. then, while i am there i concentrate consciously on starting the return move with my glutes. it's a subtle feeling and i do find it gets kind of lost in the shuffle when i do an actual rep. so many other htings are going on at the same time, so i like to do the isolation now and then just to make sure i'm activating them.0 -
