Losing weight with chronic pain & fatigue? Spoonies?

I used MFP 2 years ago and lost 3 3/4 stone. Due to hospital stays, comfort eating, chronic pain, no exercise, depression & fatigue I put about 3/4 of that back on.
I'm starting again. I have osteoarthritis in lower back, CFS (waiting diagnosis), a neuromuscular disorder (previously thought to be Myotonia but more tests needed with a muscle specialist despite cold, stress and sudden movements making muscles seize up), Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain for last 10 years, use a walking stick, hypothyroidism, depression, anxiety, mild agoraphobia & IBS and associate with The Spoon Theory.
I want to lose weight. Although specialists have told me losing weight won't make my conditions/disabilities go away they say it won't hurt.
Am I in the right group?

Considering I have some of the things you battle with ,yes you have come to the place where there is support through your journey. I have hypothyroidism, Chronic fatigue, IBS, Bursitis in my hip, so I use a cane at times, and have a nerve problem called Atypical Neuralgia in my face so am unable to do any strengthening exercises or anything but walk..........It is still possible through our pain to find a positive attitude with the help of others and do small things which will help us believe in ourselves ,Changing my diet has made me feel good about myself ,walking when I can ,has all made me feel proud of myself because before I began this program I felt hopeless, stayed in and ate.....Look forward to being there and always have a listening ear!!.0

I just looked up the spoon theory and it makes total sense to me. There are days that getting out of bed can cost me one or two spoons, by using this theory. It's really interesting.0

I am a big fan of the spoon theory. It explains everything so perfectly! I wish I could put a link on here, but I read it last year and I don't have it, but I encourage others to look for it. Do you remember where you found it?0

Thank you for that link to the Spoon Theory. That whole web site is great. I like that theory better than the bank account analogy as a bank account cannot be seen either. Now....if only we could reach over to another table and get more spoons.....0
