    "The Magicians" trilogy by Lev Grossman. This book series is a mix of Harry/Narnia/Supernatural. Warning... it is not a very happy story. There are very dark elements to it. Extremely enjoyable though. Also... I recommend watching the tv series first, Amazing show.

    "Chronicles of Nick" series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. This series mixes both scary adventure, and light-hearted humor, with tales of supernatural creatures.

    "Demon's Lexicon" trilogy by Sarah Rees Brennan. This trilogy has some great dark humor and sarcasm mixed with fun playful characters in battle between humans, magicians, and demons.

    "The Others" series by Anne Bishop. This series is about humans trying to survive in a world of animalistic shape-shifters. Dark, playful, and thought provoking.
