So, I have kind of noticed besides the weigh-in and challenge topics, we really don't have any other topics!
I would love to get to know some of ya'll better and see if we have anything in common. Plus it is always nice to have a place where you can vent to like-minded folk.
So I guess this could be a place where everyone tells a little about their selves, rants and raves about struggles they may be facing, and toot their own horn about accomplishments they have made?

A little about me:
I am happily married with a beautiful little girl. She will be a year and a half in September and the hubby and I will be married for 2 years in 5 days.
I work in governmental payroll and accounting. I basically process payrolls for cities and counties in my state and assist an account and a CPA with monthly financial statements. Shorthand, I am really, really good with numbers and I work with a lot of excel worksheets. This boils over into every other part of my life. My husband will tell you I am a control freak, but I simply just like planning everything, making lists, setting goals, that sort of thing. I even have an excel document set-up just for my weight loss that shows graphs of weight, body fat, and inches lost. It automatically calculates my calories and macro splits when I enter my weight and body fat. I also have a worksheet that lists what my weight should be on any given day according to my ultimate goal weight and the date which I would like to achieve that weight. I guess you could call me a nerd.
However, as good as I am with numbers, I lack in grammar skills. :grumble: So overlook my typing skills.
I usually get along with just about anyone.
I have a sarcastic sense of humor.
I was bred, born, and raised, in a small town in Georgia. By small, I mean population around 1400 give or take, under 3 square miles big, and people who live 10 minutes away haven't even heard of the town...0 -

Hey all!
I live in western PA near Pittsburgh, but closer to Ohio. I just graduated from college with a degree in music education, although I would really love to enlist the US Coast Guard. I LOVE anything having to do with water - swimming, kayaking, canoeing, tubing, water skiing, just going out in the speedboat, etc. I am a lifeguard at my local YMCA. As far as weight loss goes, I'd really like to just be thinner, stronger, and more fit/toned.0 -
Hi!
I'm 35 years old, married and "mom" to a 9 year old black Lab I have a degree in architecture and work as a commercial window estimator. PBsMommy - I'm also very into spreadsheets. And although I haven't designed one for tracking my weight loss (I think I will now) I have one for every other area of my life!
I took up golf and softball last year and enjoy both. I love to run but can no longer do it due to arthritis in my knees. So I walk a lot and really enjoy taking my dog out for daily walks. I'm also big into volunteering but have put a lot of that on hold to work on my weight loss. It's taken me a couple years but I've finally found what works for me for weight loss! I am also a cancer survivor and am three years cancer free! The most frustrating side affect of that is that I struggle with memory problems, I need to keep lists all the time. For example I keep forgetting my Monday morning weigh-in!0 -
Hi Everyone.
I'm Francesca. I was born in Italy, and transplanted to New Jersey in 1989. I haven't left the state since, except for the occasional trips to NYC. I'm 31, and a big kid at heart. I had to grow up quickly with my family, having my first "job" at 11 years old. I cleaned tables at my Uncle's restaurant, moving up to wait staff manager. I worked there til 21-22, when I turned into a snot-nosed idiot and "ran away" from home. Did bad stuff here and there, nothing too bad. I somehow managed to get a Bachelor's in English through all the stupidity. I didn't earn it though... that's another story. :P
About 5 years ago, my Dad got sick. Almost 3 years ago, he passed. I grew up, again. This time I grew up for the right reasons. I took care of my Mom, and found an amazing man in the process. I took care of my Mom, he took care of me... and my Mom sometimes. We've been together since Oct. 2009. He's the reason I didn't take the bad route in life, again.
We had to sell our beautiful 5 bedroom home my parent's built from scratch almost 2 years ago. I moved in with my bf. My mother got her own apartment, and she sat me down, we had the heart to heart about my life and where it was heading. I started dieting, the bad way... starving, overexercising, eating popcorn and lemonade all day, etc. I didn't really get into the groove until a year ago. I still need to lose 60 some pounds, but I'm closer now. Now, I eat under 2000 calories a day, and exercise like I should... cardio/walk/strength training.
Through all this, I learned that I am a nerd, geek... what have you. I love reading, life, and just being a home body. I enjoy cooking, and do it regularly. I can't eat so much of the bad stuff anymore, so the boyfriend def enjoys the left overs. Lolz.
That's me, in a long nutshell. 31, overweight, finally focused.0 -
Had a super awesome weekend at my first ever baseball game (went to see the Oakland A's vs Boston Red Sox). It was quite the riot, it was kind of hot during the day and then all of a sudden, it became the coldest place on earth at night. I also drank quite a bit, but hey, it happens and I had to get into the full "I'M AT A BASEBALL GAME" mode. Did not partake in a ballpark hot dog, but I did have some nachos which I gladly shared with my friends there. It was a lot of fun and now I want to go to more sporting events. I never knew how fun it could be!
Also met some really awesome people for the first time at the game (friends of friends) and they have now become my friends as well. It's going good! Now I'm just finishing up school and looking for jobs. I'm in healthcare, gotta land that first job in healthcare. This is partially the reason I decided to lose weight, I wanted to look the part. It's also increased the joy of my social life considerably. I wish I had done this 10 years sooner!0
