Alta battery life suddenly tanked

I've had my Alta since April, and I love it. The battery life has always been pretty good, lasting about 5 days. The past week or two, it's suddenly tanked! I charged it fully on Wednesday evening, and today (Friday) it was almost dead by late afternoon! That's only two days! The only thing I can think of is that the original charger broke and I bought a new one (not from Fitbit), but it is charging just fine. It was full on Wednesday night when I put it back on. It's just discharging super fast! Anyone else have this problem?

I don't have an Alta and I'm not having a charging problem, but the first thing Fitbit would advise would be to do a reset on your device. Look on the Fitbit site for how to do that. If the problem continues, then contact Fitbit customer support.1

Have you been in an area with poorer cell reception than usual? I've noticed that my Flex battery will go down more quickly if I have All-Day Sync on & I'm in an area with poor service. I usually turn off All-Day Sync and don't open the app until I've got better service.
The reset may help, too

I've mostly only been home, since I've been sick for a week. Cell reception is fine here. But the reset seems to be working!1
