Where do you hurt?

I mean a good hurt not a broken hurt!

I am finding after these lifts my quads are feeling it which I expected, my pec area again I expected.

Unexpected is the inner thigh soreness. This is good - I have used those adductor and abductor machines at the gym and can (on my first day in the gym after 18 months) shift 60kg on those (more than I weigh!) So I reckon they are junk but this is feeling good :D

That means you're doing it right! There is some research showing that women's quads tend to be overdeveloped compared to other upper leg muscles, which is thought to contribute to knee injuries. So if you strengthen your hamstrings, adductors and abductors, it's all to the good. The low back squat and the deadlift are some of the best exercises for those muscles.

As for where I am feeling it at the moment: right hip, front.

I just had my two rest days so I feel good today. But usually it's in my glutes and hip flexors. And triceps. And shoulders. And mid-low back. And upper back. And pecs. And hamstrings. Did I forget any places?

But not my quads, never my quads.

Yep, I have naff knees. So all to the good strengthening them.

    Glutes some burn.

I was just amazed at how this is hitting my ad/abducuctors (whichever is inner).

My back is pretty strong I don't get a lot of burn there from this. Felling my core a little from my leg raises and crunches too.

I love it though, every discomfort is like a badge of honour

Well, all over actually, but as of late I have started to use the hack squat machine as well as the squat rack and I can tell you that my upper inner thighs have never felt this sore. It's a good thing until you try to sit or bend down!! :-)

Squats made my hip flexors sore for the very first time today. I am assuming this is a good thing... right?

I think you know your own body, as long as it is muscular use that has made you a little sore then it's ok. If not then not

The first week of lifting, everything hurt.

Nowadays it's better, but I still get sore from time to time, depending on the amount of exertion I subject my body to. Nothing that doesn't resolve within a day or two, though. Part of going down that path of fitness is to accept the fact that soreness is inevitable; just don't court injury. Although I've gotten injured also, and then it's just a matter of learning to rehab yourself. At the beginning I somehow sprained a muscle in my lower abs (was terrified that it was a hernia, but as it turns out, it wasn't) that took some months to mend. So now I pay attention to my body and nurse my various boo-boos, while allowing my body to recover from, and adapt to, the strain I place on it by exercising.
