I surpassed my step and water goal, ate within my calories and did my usual (10) Sets of 20 Squats (10) Sets of 12 Lunges and (10) Sets of 30 Calf Raises with no weights . I came home and did 80 minutes of hardcore abs and chest, then went on a little over a half mile walk to feed the ducks with the kiddo.

Bbbwwaaa... Tummy is def feeling better... Which drags because now I have to remember to control portions and types of foods... Hahaha dad is visiting while hubby is away (I think he suspects I fear zombies when I'm home alone... Teeheehehe, yes, I fear zombies)! Anyway, sweet of dad to come visit, but that means I lazy around and cook and eat too much :P he did say I was looking skinny... But now I needed to workout to tighten the tummy.... Dad... He means well, but he's clueless!
Anyway, good day letting boys enjoy grandpa! Learning balance on a normal day... Still a lesson!

Hi Ladies! Sorry I'm just having a really hard time getting on here as often since I'm just eating maintenance cals and not stressing the food diary for at least another 6-8 weeks. I was reading the posts from last week about the weird form of body dysmorphia.. I think It't really common from what I've read in the boards to reach goal weight and then want to keep going down because you're not 100% happy with how you look. Weight is just a number, not a qualitative measure.

My journey is taking a different path right now with the metabolism reset and weight lifting so I can share some of what's going on with me. I'm working really hard at the gym, have disposed of my scale and measuring tape and am focused on my strength and developing a healthy relationship with food. When I look in the mirror I'm not 100% happy with what I see.. I think I'm still going to be cutting this last 15-20 lbs once I'm done with my reset but I am STILL seeing increases in what I can lift and still fitting into the clothes I was fitting into almost 10 lbs ago. So I don't know where I'll be in my head 2 months from now. I don't know the answers.. but I do know that I'm trying to shift my focus onto enjoying life, loving my body as it is right now and appreciating all it can do. I think of myself as in recovery from a pretty unhealthy relationship with food and my body image. I don't know if what I'm doing is better than being weight focused.. both of you are continuing to lose weight and I have moments where I"m jealous TBH

I do know that I feel good. I don't panic when I eat a cookie.. I don't feel hungry all the time.. I am making progress at the gym.. and I'm proud of how hard I'm working. Hoping that this will be a slow, steady progress kind of result. But I"m here and going to keep sharing and I love hearing how you're all doing too. I think we learn a lot from each other. Hope you all have a great week!!!!

Here is my workout from last night.. Broke 3 personal records for my Stronglifts program!

    Treadmill Walk/sprint 1/2 mile
    Squat: 5x5 130 lbs
    Bench Press: 5x5 80 lbs
    Pendlay Rows: 5x5 90 lbs

    Accessories (HIIT Style)
    Face pulls: 3x10 70lbs
    Assisted dips: 3x10 90lbs

I came home and ate dinner then went on a 2 mile family walk/ bike ride, not much but tomorrow is little man's first day of 1st grade so we had to get him home and make his nightly "protein smoothie" (peanut butter, banana and almond milk) then get him bathed and in n bed early.

That protein smoothie sounds refreshing, tons of ice and we'd be loving it here! Heat advisory for us today, soccer practices cancelled, heat index at 114*F!!!
Kerryatoon, this is a lifelong journey, a discovery of which routine or habit fits us best, knowing this, is already heading in the right direction. Acknowledging that it's about having a healthy relationship with food, loving our bodies for what they can do, accepting that some days we will have doubts, but always looking at ourselves with honesty! That's what it's all about for me! I hope one day, I'll have more self-assured days than not! I enjoy and relish on the snapshots of "I feel pretties" I experience here and there, and I will try to remember those when I'm having the self-loathing ones! Sometimes I will succeed and sometimes not! I think, for me, that's why I am trying to stick to these accountability forums, because your my Jiminy Crickets when I am feeling icky! And someday, we will need less of each other, but some days our cheering ups will get us out of the dump.... At least, that's how it's been working for me! I am so happy to hear you trying your new approaches and opinions on it! It helps and serves as ideas for what's next to some of us -me-!!! Keep up the good work, with the strong lifts, with yours,we, with the smokefree lifestyle! I love reading your stories!
    At it girls, at it!

@NadiaMayI he feels he "needs" one every night instead of "dessert" to build his muscles strong like daddies lol
That weather blows! My son played T-ball for a couple seasons until at one game my son came running up to me and fainted into my arms because he was so hot...that was his last season!!!

I sat in an outdoor sauna for three hours, does that count! Gggeeeezzzz, done with this heat wave, it's been brutal this week! Should ease off next week! Calories are good, water is good, difficult to reach the 10,000 step goal, close but not quite! :)

Woohooooo! TGIF @heatherc369 that's too funny.. I'm glad your back is feeling better. Having to wipe with ol lefty is awkward. @NadiaMayl I'd say that sauna's are pretty good for you as long as you're drinking tons of water.. we're actually supposed to get rain next week but the high for that day is expected to be 111 degrees so It should pretty much be a sauna steam bath.. lol.

I needed a reminder how far I've come.
When I started all of this I was using a 35 lb barbell because that's all I could muster. 13 weeks later I'm here! 67 Days Quit Smoking. So far I've gained 6 lbs but I'm continuing to get stronger too.. so I'm calling it a bulking period.. lol.

I got to the gym last night, had to rush and couldn't do a bunch of extra stuff because I had a meeting to attend at 8.. but here's what I got done:

Warmup: Treadmill Walk/Sprint alternate 1/2 mile.
Barbell Squat: 5x5 135 lbs (was hard.. I had to grunt to get the last rep.. lol)
Overhead Press: 4x5 65 lbs.. failed the last attempt at this.. will do 65 again next time. I'll get it!
Deadlift: 1x5 165 lbs Lifted this!! 10 lbs over my own body weight!!! FELT AMAZING!

    Have a good weekend LADIES!

Hi there. I was on here briefly a while ago, but fell off the wagon for a bit. I'm back now going at it again. But I have a whole new motivation now. I was diagnosed Type 2 diabetic. :( So I've really got to get my health in order. I had all my blood work done, and I go in next Wednesday to go over all the results. I don't know what my A1C is yet, or what my HDL, LDL, Triglycerides, etc. look like. I was diagnosed based on how astronomically high my daily glucose readings were. I'm doing the right things, though. On my own without medication I've been able to bring my average morning reading down 57 points from 3 weeks ago. I think that's a good accomplishment. I almost cut out soda. 80% of the time I'm drinking unsweetened tea. Today I did have about 10 oz of soda, but a lot of days I don't have any or just a few sips. Drastically better than the 2 liters a day I was drinking! I've also lost 2.5 lbs this past week.

I'm looking forward to being on here to give and get support.

@AZLisaLou , welcome back!!! Those are big changes you're making, soda and sugary drinks are so tough to cut out because we are soooo used to them -and even addicted- that anything else tastes yucky for a while! So congrats on that, and congrats on coming back! We all have faced a time in which we stop or find it hard to get motivated to keep going! But continuing to get going again, that's an achievement!

@Kerryatoon We all need those reminders, no matter what, years of self-defeating behaviors will take time to get rid of (for me at least)!
@heatherc369 I literally had coffee shooting out my nose at your left handed dilemma! Girl, I hope your muscles have recovered! Keep up the awesome work, you are rocking it!

Welcome back! Its unfortunate that health issues, and bad circumstances have to force some of us to get right, but it was the same with me! I was facing gall bladder surgery and a cholecystectomy unless I changed my diet and started taking better care of myself......it only took a a little research on cholecystectomy surgery to realize there was no way in hell I was going to sit back and let that happen! Props to you darlin!
