Finally seeing a little bit of a drop! Taking Phen later in the day seems to be working for me
Yay, Angie! It's great when the scale starts moving down again. I've been stuck at the same weight for over 10 days . . . or rather I've been up 2 pounds, down a pound, back and forth for that 10 days. Finally today I'm back down where I was 10 days ago and hopefully I'll see a loss in the next few days. That's usually the way it seems to work for me. But 10 days is longer than usual.0 -
I saw my doctor on Monday--I've been on phentermine for 4 months. She saw me after 1 month and now it's every 3 months. Turns out my insurance will not pay for phentermine after 3 months--they say it's a short-term treatment. My doctor on the other hand, says that she has patients who stay on it for years. She told me just to take my prescription to Costco where the self-pay price is around $20 a month and you don't have to be a Costco member to use their pharmacy. I'd like to stay on it long enough to take off all of the weight I want, but I'd really like to be free of taking ANY medication after that. I know it'll be harder without that appetite suppressant, but hopefully the habits will be solid by then. I was 178--exactly 30 pounds down on her scale from my start weight in May. She was very pleased, but when I told her that I'd like to lose 40 more, she said "I think you'd look like a crackhead if you lose 40 more." LOL We'll see when I get to 150 if I feel like I need to take off any more. She thinks I'll be more than happy at 150. I also asked her if she'd prescribe phen for my 22 year old daughter who weighs around 250. She said she certainly would--she has her own 18 year old daughter on it. My daughter is looking forward to the appointment and trying it. She has PCOS (like me) and weight loss is hard for her. Weight loss is also the only thing that really helps PCOS symptoms.2

Hi Nancy,
I would avoid Costco if I were you. I went there for a refill b/c my doctor recommended it cost wise. Unfortunately, it is the brand that someone on this forum said doesn't work for them. I am also finding it does not work near as well as the brand I was using from my old pharmacy. :-( I also have side effects on it that I did not have on the brand I was using. It wasn't worth saving the $5 and now I have to wait until I finish out this 100 pills before I can go back to my old pharmacy. :-(

Oh no! Well, at least I'm glad I only got one month's worth filled there.
