I'm currently awaiting official approval from my insurance company. My doc said I should be fine. BMI is 39-40. no co-morbidities except chronic ankle pain, arthritis which keeps me from being able to exercise as well as continued joint pain when on my feet for more than a few hrs. praying I'm approved this week!! Psych and Nutrition evals completed. trying to walk more and get my clean eating on...organic, and low carb for the most part. My question is what are the best vitamins to take post op and should I start them now? Multivitamin, Vit D, B, Biotin, iron. I already take 5000iu D3 soft gel capsule daily now. also I've been reading about the Papaya enzyme chewables. where can I get these?

I got my papaya enzyme fromTarget as well as Wal-Mart.
I have just bought the 3+3 all in one capsule and a hair supplement from Bariatric Eating - was having a tough time remembering all my vitamins regularly so having an all in one is helpful0 -
I use 10,000mcg of biotin, I'd definitely suggest starting that sooner rather than later. You can do the 5,000 if it's easier to find. There's really no recommended dose. Just watch yourself, biotin encourages "HAIR" growth. Um...facial, arm, leg...some people are affected, others are not!
Calcium citrate is the type my program touts. It's more bioavailable (easier to absorb) than calcium carbonate. We are told that we need 2x the recommended daily allowance. I take my calcium at the end of the day so I can see how much I get through diet.
Vitamin D, I take a liquid form, easier to adjust. I tend to test SUPER LOW for D, so I adjust my D between 3,000 IU and 10,000 IU depending on where my blood work is...and depending on my natural intake.
Vitamin B MUST be something sublingual, or dissolvable. The primary place for absorption (as told by my program, still working on verification) for B12 is in the portion of the stomach removed. SO...sublingual is absorbed orally. We were told 1k daily or 2.5k weekly.
Iron, I'm on 35mg. I only started taking it after I tested low.
Multi-vit, I just use Centrum Chewable in the orange. They taste horrible, but are inexpensive. I take 2 of them.0
