Protein powders

Does anyone have suggestions for protein that I can mix with my liquids and soft foods? I need something unflavored, and when I go to the health food stores, they all sell these giant tubs of protein. If I don't like it, then I have a big can of wasted money.

Taking suggestions so I can get ready for August 5th - RNY Day!

Hi, I'm in my pre-surgery 2wk phase right now. Surgery scheduled 7/26! Both Unjury and Bariatric Advantage sent me samples so I could check the flavors. For Unjury I had to buy a sample kit. Both provided samples of vitamins as well. Go on the websites, and find a customer service number to call, you have to ask for this. Both of these brands taste ok to me so far. Best of luck to you.

GNC has an unflavored protein powder that isn't awful. If you keep your receipt you can return it if you don't like it.

I had a "comin' to Jesus" meeting with my surgeon yesterday. I haven't been putting protein in my food up until now... and I STILL can't get that 60mg in!

I've been adding the unflavored protein to soups, because that's where I can't taste it. Since I can't drink milk, my options for all those delicious smoothies I've seen recipes for are kind of out.

Any ideas? I'm getting desperate here.

(for the unitiated, a "comin' to Jesus" meeting is where you basically get everything laid out in front of you - in this case, what you're doing wrong, why it's needed and the results of your behavior. I'm ok with it, I knew it was going to happen and since my surgeon did it, I know he cares past just the surgery; he wants me to be successful because I've gone through too much NOT to be.)

Hi, I've done the bariatric advantage chocolate flavor with water and ice instead of milk some of the time. Also the Unjury Strawberry Sorbet flavor works well with water or crystal light lemonade and ice. The Unjury Chicken Soup flavor can go in mashed potatoes. Hope some of these ideas work! We all want you to be successful.
