breastfeeding; calories?

I am due to have my 3rd baby in 10 days. I've breastfed my previous two children but didn't calorie count, so I kept the weight on for about two years after having my last. this time I'm determined to get back into shape asap! I've read; at least 1800 calories a day is needed when breastfeeding. Are their any mums who have done this?
What are other mums planning after giving birth?

Hello. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant with my third. I am also planning on breastfeeding this one like I did my previous 2. I also wasn't calorie counting prior to this pregnancy. I've also heard that 1500-1800 (most should stay on the higher end of that spectrum) is recommended during breastfeeding. Of course, the less your baby nurses as they get older the less calories you would need.
I plan on starting around 1800 and see how that goes. I would also wait the 6 weeks till your milk supply is established before worrying about losing weight.

Im nearly 35 weeks and planning on breastfeeding as well, I'm not even going to entertain the idea of weight loss for the first six weeks. I think our bodies have been doing amazing miracles growing a baby and I think we should give ourselves a bit of a break. After that I'm planning on doing the Joe wicks 90 day challenge because I'm thinking I'll have about a stone in weight to lose but mine is more about getting my shape back, I'm not that fussed on the number of the scale. I was originally thinking of calorie counting and allowing myself 1900-2000 plus not eating additional calories from exercising which would equate to 1.5lb per week.1
