Plantar fasciitis and marathon training

I've been training for my first marathon (November) for 2 months now and training has been great. I run 5x a week and got up to 40+ miles a week.
Yesterday was a rest day but my son really wanted to go to this nerf gun arena where we run around and shoot each other. I figured it could be my cross training.
After the nerf arena, the inside of my right foot started hurting any time I walked on it and I have a feeling it's plantar fasciitis.
I'm suppose to run 6 miles today and 16 tomorrow. Should I take today off (swim for an hour instead of running) and see how my foot does tomorrow? Or would it be okay to run through the pain on both days?
Any advice about running with plantar fasciitis is much appreciated.

I would not suggest running through the pain. Rest a couple of days, see a physio.0

I had a similar pain at the beginning of my current training program, I was able to run through it but once I took my shoes off it hurt pretty bad. I got the below foot roller and used it twice a day on both feet. In about a week my feet were back to normal! My boss suggested this to me; he once got plantar fasciitis so bad he almost had to have surgery and this is the therapy that worked best for him too.

I had similar recently whilst training for a half marathon. The only thing that worked for me was LOTS of foam rolling (I kept a golf ball under my desk for rolling) and three weeks rest. It meant my mileage suffered but was the difference between finishing or not. Good luck x0

There is great information here: http://running.competitor.com/2014/06/photos/new-techniques-treating-plantar-fasciitis_96398
I dealt with this issue on and off, as well as Achilles heel. In this training cycle, I focused more on hip strengthening, which prevented all of these issues. (although it turns out I could have done more, as I am dealing with a different injury out of the left field)
Unless it gets really unbearable, you should be able to get away with a few days of and managing the issue while focusing on core strength.0 -
Agree about rest and rolling a tennis ball under your foot, especially in the morning when you first get up. If it doesn't go away quickly, try the Superfeet inserts. That got me back running when I went through a bad bout of PF, some years ago.0
