Nice article :) Thank you for posting it! I'm so glad I'm almost done being pregnant though, it's been a long 38 weeks so far!

My favorite line, "get over yourself". Loved it.

Thanks for sharing, Ruby! Very important to keep that perspective in line; even if you don't look like the (probably) photoshopped pictures of pregnant model Marisa Miller, there is a tiny life inside you that your body needs fuel to support. I've been grateful in that I've been able to keep working out throughout my entire pregnancy. Though it's my first, I can imagine how much just being able to move somewhat keeps the negative body image thoughts out of your mind. Definitely hard to wrap your mind around gaining weight after trying so hard to lose it for so long.

I agree!! I think it is so important to remember the new life you are nurturing and put aside the desire to cut calories or try to lose weight while pregnant. Eating healthy and staying active should suffice, despite any weight gains.

It is a huge shift in focus to go from losing weight and gaining muscle to growing a baby. I was so used to constant "rewards" for my time at the gym. I was losing weight, looking great and getting kinda ripped (I even had an ab)!! There will be plenty of time for that though. For now I remind myself how much eating healthy and working out is making this pregnancy doable. At this point with my daughter I was almost completely immobile, swollen and in constant pain. This time I am still running, lifting weights and taking care of a toddler... all with energy to spare. Total win. Even better than losing weight if you really think about it. :)
