miles off?

the other day I did a 12 mile hike. My flex said I did like 30,000 steps (um sure, I don't really know but that sounds high!) but then the mileage part only said 3 miles. What do I need to fix in my settings?

12 miles is 63,360 feet. If each of your steps is ~2 feet, then 30,000 steps is completely reasonable.

I don't know about the settings, I don't have my flex yet.

A friend of mine just did a half marathon and had about 31K steps so that's right. The mileage is definitely off though. Did you adjust your stride at all? The default should be closer than that.

In Settings make sure your height is correct. (on the personal info page). I have my stride length at 0 & 0. There are articles in the Fitbit community forum on how to figure out your correct stride length so search in there to find out how to figure out how to adjust.
