breaking the evening drink habbit

I don't know how many years or when I fell into the habit of coming home from a hard day of sedintary problem solving and all I want to do is shut down my brain....Pour a scotch. Then two...before I know it, I've consumed way to many calories. So, as the years progress, my weight did tooo.

Time to get it under control. Complements of myfitnesspal and a fitbit, I'm making slow and measured progress. My failure point is still about every 4 to 5 days, I pour a couple of scotches and then more and when my reservations are all clouded up with liquor, I bing eat. I had 20,000 steps in one day and managed to destroy all that progress with my obsession. Always seems like a good idea at the time.

I'm trying to avoid the destruction phase of this program by keeping busy. Trying to pick up the exercise. then I track, track, track.

Don't know what I might get from this group. But, I'm always willing to learn.

I've had that happen to me as well. Wine is my achilles heel. A particularly bad day combined with fun shows on the DVR and I've been known to finish a bottle of Chardonnay by myself! The only way I know to avoid it is to abstain. I don't mean every day but I'm working toward only having wine on the weekends!

    Me too, wine for years.
Then i switched to beer, less calories and i didnt like it as much...
then I started to like beer!
sabotaged all my good work too
Now I abstain, except for birthdays and long weekends.
I had one beer on Canada day and none since.
took a few tries but i am happy now with ice water!
    You can do it!!!!
