Morning Gang~
Never a shortage of great useful tips/tricks from our BBB family! Thanks for sharing, Steph!
Busy weekend....gonna be a busy busy week too. Veterans Day ceremonies on Friday are going to take a lot of time. We head to pick up Pig on Thursday and begin the 24 hour roasting.... Expecting a large contingent of USMC'ers in town for their 50th Vietnam era service reunion. USMC Commandant going to speak at our post too. Lots of preps for sure.
Back still hurting bad....back to surgery center today at 1p.... Ugh!
Have an inspired day!
Chili sounded awesome, Lee!0 -
Good Morning BBB.
Well we worked on leaves most of the day yesterday and we are going to do more this afternoon - last day of warmer weather and we want to take advantage of it.
Wow - BBBers have been busy - painting grout, Tail of the Dragon, pheasant hunting, course prep, church and Vegas - oh my!
Do good out there everyone.0 -
Bill - sounds like outstanding Veterans Day celebrations in store at you post.
Good luck today - I hope you get relief from your back pain. I'll be sending good energy.0 -
Good Morning,
Busy weekend but got a few things done around house over weekend, have some painting that needs to get done before DMIL moves in Sunday, 6' X 8' wall divider that me and DS finished yesterday; this will give her a separated sitting area from balance of rec room downstairs. Hoping she understands that there are defined spaces in house for her and us.
Glad Jack had a great Birthday.
Leaves are a thing of my past, thank goodness; love to look at them and know that someone else will be dealing with them. We may get a few blown into yard, but I pick those up when walking Sunny.
Kelly, congrats on DS.
Finally cooling off a little, still above normal but cool enough we can leave windows open and turn off air. We desperately need rain.
Chili sounds good, we will have whole family this weekend as they are coming to our house since we live closer to GA game plus DD's house does not currently have a kitchen.
Skip, you need to get a bike like that, every guy needs more toys.
Enjoy the Day,
Sam I am0 -
Good morning BBB Friends. Steph, I filed the grout fix in the back of my brain for further use. Hopefully I'll find it when needed. Lee, DWs chili was good even though it had bovine and not pheasant. I'm with Sam on the leaf thing. I hope the yard guy does a good job. Speaking of yards. AT&T has mine tore up laying fiber optic cable. I should have the option of BBBing at gigabyte speeds soon. Have a great day everyone.0

Morning BBB
Send them over here when done by you, Dennis. Ours is slow as molasses and they say it is what it is for two+ years until all goes satellite.
Major leave clean up for us too. But Im not complaining, we decided this house was worth it. We got the jist of them out, and the rest next weekend is manageable and should be the end of them.
Record warm temps here this weekend hit low 70's. Gorgeous ! Hoping for a mild winter!
Hope you get some back relief soon, Skip
Well, big day for the U S of A tomorrow. Brace yourselves either way. And go vote.
Have a great day!0 -
Everyone practice.....(dare I say it....)

And I thought House of Cards was fictional drama! Not so, as we are seeing play out.....
Anyone up for joining in Cozumel? We can open a Tequilla Sunrise lounge on the beach and never wear shoes again!

Oh, bought a 7.5 ft artificial tree Sat. for 70% off. Not a pre-lit though. I talked myself out of pre lit. I'll want to changes lights from clear to multi colored maybe year to year, and I also like a couple thousand at least on a tree this big, and the pre lit in a range I would pay, didn't have nearly enough lights on them. I'll likely put 2000+ lights min. on this one. And it was the best looking life like tree they had.
Decided on the artificial so I can put it up earlier than what I could with a real tree.
Steph, you said tree trimming in a post this weekend. Was that trimming the trees on your lot, or what?
I did buy my first gift yesterday, but Lisa is already onto wrapping, holy moly! Wow0 -
Color me in Skip. Although IT on a Mexican island might be a challenge.0

Improvise...
Adapt.....
Overcome.....
When all else fails, put up the "Gone Fishing" signage and enjoy a Mojito with the Master Mixologists of Lee & Skip0 -
I want Kelly to be our driver!
Lisa - our ambassador, of course0 -
We have AT & T fiber optic cable running across our yard, of course it does not do any good if they have not connected it. In talking to neighbors they have been hearing that it is being connected for past 4 years.
We have started looking for artificial tree, allergies to live trees would keep DD away. I was wanting a 9 or 10' tree, but now looking think a 8 1/2' would work perfect. Have seen some prelit trees that can be switched from multi-colored lights to white with push of button on remote. Also if I have a shorter tree I can makeup a great topper.
I'm up for a tropical island no matter which wins, been reading how retirement goes so much further in Mexico; may need to talk with some I know that retired there and have now moved back to states.0 -
I'll drive0

Sounds like a great tree plan, Sam! I just like waayyy more lights then what any pre lit I saw for under $1000 came with. And if I add more of my own lights, to a pre lit, and the lights didn't match, my ocd would flare
I will light it up, myself....

Afternoon BBB.
Knees barking after long hunt yesterday and this AM before work....got 4 pheasants hanging but golly do I need cortisone shots.
I got a leaf guy. LOVE him.
I can make a martini and pour a scotch or a beer.
Grout painting may be in my future. I stupidly mentioned it to DW.
Be OP ;-)0 -
Ouch Skip. Good luck with back. Trees?? "leaf me alone I say"!0
-
Yes . We trimmed the branches that almost touch the house and thinned out a bit
DH finally admitted we need a new roof . Sure hope it doesn't leak this winter I told him almost 2 years ago it was time and he wouldn't admit it0 -
Back procedure (discography) finally completed.... L4 & L5 are completely shot and S1 is "concerning." It was a very painful procedure.....couldn't use any pain interventions so they could "assess and target/pinpoint area of concern." I used language that I don't rarely use
On an upside - the day ended with GREAT news! My grant application for our VFW Post from Home Depot got approved/funded! $3000 in materials and all the labor provided by Home Depot. #happydance0 -
I can be the ambassador and represent, but to whom? Maybe I can just put up signage around our square of beach?
It's a super-busy week ... all my regular meetings, plus 3 Emotional Eating seminars in various cities, plus leading a Bible study Thursday night, plus leading worship again Sunday. And a friend might be coming to stay here a couple days in the midst of it all. We'll see.0 -
Must be election week Lisa. Emotional eating (imbibing too ) and praying too.0
