@Kerryatoon thanks for the encouragement. Tomorrow I'm going to start logging again and see exactly what kind of damage I'm doing. Hopefully seeing it in print will give me the kick in the shorts I need!
@NadiaMayl I hear you with being over committed to kid things. I'm in my car probably 4 hours a day at least driving them all around to their jobs. And that's just for the 2 girls. My son starts his new job next week, so that's even more time I'll be in my car. You're so right....balance! Hope you can get yourself back to the gym and get some you time going on.
Well, I kind of said *F*ooey it and went off the rails so much that next week when I get my updated blood work for my diabetes I'm going to be no better off than when I started! I haven't even been doing my sugar readings like I had be doing so well at before. I'm prepared to get yelled at by the doctor, and say "I know, I know. I'm going to do better!" I just love sugar so much! I bought fresh pineapple, apples, strawberries, mandarins and bananas. I need to eat those for my sugar needs.
Ok, tomorrow is a new day! New day, new attitude, new outlook. How's everyone else doing??0 -
I started off my day on a bad note...about 8 chocolate covered almonds from Sprout's. I was pleasantly surprised that 8 pcs is 1 servings, has 170 calories and only 15g carbs. So I snuck by with one there. Had shredded taco seasoned chicken, sauteed bell peppers and mushrooms (leftovers from fajita night), a little cheese, and a serving of Dorito's. I haven't had ANY soda today. Not even a sip. Proud of that fact. I logged everything, and it felt great to be in control so far today...oh! I forgot...I had fresh pineapple too! Yum! I've got more pineapple on my menu for a snack tonight. I have no idea what's for dinner yet, so I can't estimate that far ahead. Just wanted to report that I'm having a good day today, and it's feeling great!!! I honestly don't know why I fall off track so easily. I hate the feeling, the stress and the shame involved with it. You'd think I'd try to stay away from that. You'd think!0

Love the good attitude about getting back on the saddle, even when it's sitting on it a little slouched! Every little effort counts, and not beating ourselves over the one thing we didn't do.
I went back to spinning today, pppoooeeyyy it kicked my booty, but I enjoyed it. Also stopped by the bookstore and got me some GRE prep books.... DOUBLE pppoooeeeeeeyyyyy... I can't remember how to solve for functions! And I was stuck on a word problem, and the 11 year old gets home and so,ves it in 30 seconds! Nnnaaaggghhhh... Hahaha made me happy to see him so proud to solve a math problem which his momma couldn't! . I had my moments of wwwwhhhyyyy am I doing this? But then, I got into it, and I'm ok right now... I'm sure tomorrow or the day after, I'll have another panic attack! It's scary! I got an email from one of my old school mates, one from my first masters program, and she sent me pictures of the progress of her new to-be private practice! She also got through her second masters for therapy, while having a toddler and a baby, in a foreign country (she's Greek living in Italy), and what am I complaining about?!?! Hehehe anyway, I will have to get extra organized with the food planning and sneaking the exercising if I do make it into the program!
But here is to more progress, sticking to it, and enjoying the things that surround us!!0 -
@NadiaMayl Yea for son for being able to solve the problem! You've got this. Deep breaths, think peaceful thoughts.
@heatherc369 and @Kerryatoon I hope you both are doing well. Miss hearing from you!
I had my 3 month follow-up blood work for the diabetes today. I'm pretty sure I haven't made much progress, which sucks because the first month I was doing soooo well. Then I let everything slide.
The past few days I've had high points and low points. I just need to focus on making sure the highs are more than the lows and improve from there. I haven't weighed myself in about 2 weeks. Kinda scared to see where I'm at!0 -
Application finalized and submitted!
Paid for GRE, 18 December, here I come!
Progress studying, math practice test 7 right out of 21!!!! Holy kittens! -in my defense, once I went over the answers, I clearly boobooed 8 of the questions due to rushing and inexperience taking these tests now, 4 were geometry crap that I just have to try to memorize... The others were logical thinking that quite honestly seem like a ball of tangled yarn! Hehehe I'll get there, I have a month to do more practice tests! And my verbal scores should help, I'm good at those!
I'm afraid my topic of venting is going to be very limited for a while... Hehe
Still maintaining the weight relatively simply. Enough water but need to up exercise!
@AZLisaLou the fact that you did it for a month shows you you can do it again! And it's a month which gave your health a little relief, so, it's better than not having done it you can do it again!0 -
@heathec369 *kitten* curveballs life throws, hope your ankle handles some pressure well! Yay.... Better get back in her soon.....0

5:30 am and I've been up all night. Insomnia sucks *kitten*. (Is that the proper use of the *kitten*? to fill in the blank?) While awake I made my grocery list for next week. I'm trying once again to fill my shelves with healthier, easy snacks. One thing that will take time, but worth it is banana bread. The kids have been asking for it. But get this...I found a recipe for whole wheat banana bread. I wonder how different it will taste. Only one way to find out. The whole wheat will be much better for the diabetes than white flour. Another thing I will be making is frozen strawberries pureed combined with greek yogurt and lite cool whip. You line the bottom of a pan with graham crackers, spread on the filling, top with more sheets of graham crackers (whole, not crushed or anything) and then freeze it. Cut it up into squares and there you have strawberry ice cream sandwiches on the skinny. I'm also loading up on fruit again including my favorite, fresh pineapple. For my teenagers to take to school I will be making home made cherry and strawberry pop tarts. Mine will taste like little pies rather than that dry, chemical crap in the foil wrappers. I'm going to go back to Greek yogurts for snacks as well. So, my list is made. Now I just have to see if my budget holds up under the strain when I go shopping!
The dog has a harness, but it's bulky, heavy, and hard to put on. Also when I go shopping I'm going to see about getting a lightweight harness for her that's easier to put on and I plan to start taking her for walks and get my fat *kitten* moving. The temps are in the mid 80's, and it's nice enough to be outside walking. (I can't believe we're in the middle of freaking November and it's still in the 80's!!!) I'm not good at keeping up motivation, especially for exercise, so we'll see how it goes. I'm going to wear my pedometer and see how many steps it takes to walk around the block, and another time how many steps to walk to the park and back (a couple blocks away). I want to see if I can actually work up to the recommended 10k steps. That seems completely impossible right now!
Ok, I've been rambling long enough. Hope everyone has a happy Saturday!0 -
got the nerve to step on the scale today. I don't know how, but it turns out I've lost a couple lbs. I'll take it.0
