Here we are for another week of fabulous fitness fun!

In my case, it'll be just surviving the holiday!!! lol I'm STILL soda-free! It's been pretty easy so far, surprisingly. Since going back to Sprite Zero and Fresca I've been doing fine without the regular stuff. I baked banana bread last night, but it's a healthier version. It's made with whole wheat and instead of sugar it has honey. It's also got plain greek yogurt in the mix. It could have used more banana flavor...it's very mild. And because I like sugar so much part of me would say I'd add a little more honey, but then that would defeat the purpose of being healthier, right? I didn't pin it, so I can't find the link, but if you want the recipe let me know and I'll type it in.

@maureli Great job in having a solid weekend! Especially during the evening when it's the hardest. Good for you! What's the weather like there? Here it's getting "chilly" by being in the upper 60'sF (around 20C). I'm waiting for the new winter sweater I ordered to come today so I don't have to freeze when I go out! lol In our defense, though, in Arizona we get up to 115F (46.1C) so for us, 60's is kind of chilly.

@nadiamayl I hope you are enjoying your time with your family!

@heatherc369 and @kerryatoon I'm thinking about you! Hope you both are doing well.

Well, I had a soda. But I'm not mad about it. One soda once in a while is ok. Moderation is key here. Back to diet now. Honestly, it wasn't even that satisfying.

Everything else is going well. doing well with my eating, losing a little bit of weight. All good things in the world of "healthy me".

    How are you girls doing?

good Morning! I did log in on my phone last night to read messages but I just can't type one out on that small device, lol....so here I am this morning

Work went well yesterday, I am there again today from 8=5 and then tomorrow from 12-8pm. So today I take my lunch and tomorrow my supper. I've got some meals frozen in the freezer that I can grab. I have a roast ready to go in the slowcooker this morning for supper tonight.

@AZLisaLou - you have done a very good job resisting the sodas! Keep it up, just make that one that you did have a treat and keep it at that. You're absolutely right, we are allowed to treat ourselves. Just as long as the treat doesn't lead back to the old ways! Think of how great you feel about yourself when you don't have it. Such great willpower!

The weather here has been kind of drab lately, a lot of grey dull days. This morning the temp is 3*C which I think translates to 38*C but suppose to have a high of 41*F. I guess as much as I hate to admit....winter is coming! My oldest son is in University in New Hampshire and said he had a covering of snow on his car yesterday morning.

Well, I am off....hope you have a great day and keep those sodas a bay! (hehe)

@maureli, nope, I didn't let the one soda derail me. I'm back on diet. I will have one tomorrow though because we are going out to dinner and I consider that a treat. I only usually get 1-2 date nights a year with my husband, and I don't want to ruin my dinner by choking down diet coke. That's usually the only diet drink restaurants have, and I HATE diet Coke. I drink Sprite Zero and Fresca. Anyways, looking forward to my date night. What will you be taking to work to eat? Something yummy? Roast in the crock pot sounds soooo good!

Thanksgiving will be a challenge, but one thing is for sure...I will be taking a 2 liter of Sprite Zero with me. I will indulge in bites of all they have to offer, so I don't want to make it worse by drinking straight sugar. I'm making a spinach dip and a broccoli & cauliflower dish to contribute to the festivities, and I think those are good, healthy dishes (well, the sour cream in the dip is higher in calories, but no one is going to be eating the entire bowl). The pie is the hardest. There's always an abundance of pies. I looooove pie. And I want to taste ALL of them lol. We'll see how it goes.

Hope all you ladies we haven't seen in a while are hanging in there. We're thinking about you!

@AZLisaLou - I agree about the pies!! Pie is my absolute favourite thing. My mom makes pies all the time and I have to resist (well....try to resist) them often. She is a big cook, lives just across the road from me, and brings stuff down all the time. This is half of my problem with food! lol Good luck to you this week, holidays are always a tough time. I think my favorite pop is diet 7-up, then diet pepsi. Last night I splurged on a glass of red wine. :)

I am actually taking leftover to work today from that meal that I made last week that nobody ate but me. Its called Middle Eastern Chicken and Chickpea Stew. It was good, I will eat it over rice. I have 3 frozen helpings in the freezer.

Only have to be to work at noon today. So, I am going to try to get a short workout in this morning. I have a few to pick from on DVD.

Hi ladies!! Good job on your achievements! I have very spotty internet in the mountain, I tried posting a few days ago, but no luck!
It's beautiful out here, the mountains, family, friends, lots of laughter, I sometimes very much miss 'home' (my parents and I moved to the US in 1992 since we all had US citizenships because my grandmothers were American, long story, hehe).
My brother owns a few horses and a couple of fun toys to keep entertained! My boys have loved running through the mountains, playing with the dogs, horse back riding, and a few city visits as well.
I'm keeping up with nutrition, even on vacation, so I'm not expecting a gain when I get home. Then I'll be ready for routine! :D
Keep up the great work and have a blessed and happy thanksgiving!!!!

@NadiaMayl - it sounds like you are having a wonderful holiday in the mountains. Where did you move from in '92? Do you ever go back to visit? My son has just started a masters program in NH so he is now living in Manchester. I have made my first trip to the US this fall (well second trip I guess) and hope to make more! He will be spending his first American Thanksgiving with his girlfriends family.

I plan to get some kind of workout in today. Its a beautiful day here, the sun is out and it doesn't seem too windy.

    Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hello ladies! I survived Thanksgiving with my husband's family. lol. We get along ok now....there's just a lot of history there. Gets uncomfortable for me and I have a lot of anxiety. I made a new dish to take this year. It was a broccoli & cauliflower casserole. It was super delicious and got tons of compliments. If you'd like to take a look at the recipe, here's the link: mccormick.com/recipes/salads-sides/broccoli-cauliflower-casserole

I stuck mostly to veggies and turkey. Of course, even the veggies were rich, calorie filled dishes, but I did my best. I drank diet soda because I knew I'd be overloading on sugar for dessert. I had very small slices of 3 desserts. One of these days coming up I'm going to make the first of my 2 turkeys and make a traditional Thanksgiving after-the-fact dinner for my own house. Then I'll make the 2nd in the next week or so. It's taking up a huge amount of space in my freezer.

@maureli How nice that your son gets to have a traditional American Thanksgiving. I hope he enjoys it. Did you get your workout in?

@nadiamayl sounds like you are having a blast in the mountains with your family! So glad to hear you are having a good time.

@azlisalou - the broccoli cauliflower recipe sounds really good, I printed it out and will definitely try it sometime. I'm glad that you survived dinner with the inlaws, and stuck to mostly the veggies and the turkey. I have a turkey in my deepfreeze now and feel like getting it out and having it this weekend. Hmmm....we'll see I guess.

I did get my workout in, I went for a run. It was so beautiful out, cool but calm. Today I am going to get my hair cut and colored. I am thinking about going a fair bit shorter, but I am not sure if I should. Decisions! My hair grows fast so if I don't really like it, it will have a whole month to grow a bit for Christmas. lol

Checking out the online black Friday sales. I'm not sure that I want to go out into the stores today.

Got weighed yesterday morning and I am down .5lbs. So, since I have restarted I am down 3.5lb. I'll take it. I was kind of hoping for more this week, but I know last week was a fairly big loss being the first week.
Last night we went out to dinner with friends, I splurged and ordered sweet potato fries with my fish instead of my usual rice. OMG, how i love sweet potato fries. So so good with that curry dip. Oh, and a glass of wine.
Also started my Christmas shopping yesterday! Yay, now I feel like I want to keep going and get more done. A friend asked me to go to Halifax this week (its 3 hrs away) so we'll probably get lots done then.
Whats everyone else been up to?

Awesome job on the holiday eating and in-law handling @AZLisaLou !!!!! The holidays can be so tough... we went out to a really trendy restaurant in the city (México City), it's been featured on Netflix show Chef, Pujol is the name. Very interesting experience if Mexican Food in an elevated way. It was funky but I loved it!
@maureli celebrate even the little losses my friend!! After a few weeks you will have slower losses. Plus evaluate weather your diet was good but maybe more sodium for example!! I moved from Mexico City to the US. Then I met my now husband and I lived in The Netherlands for four years, and then back to the US. New Hampshire is a beautiful state, I hope your son enjoys the experience! He managed to be here at a very unusual time (politically speaking), I wonder what his opinion of it all is!! :D
Anyway, we just got back from holiday, off to have dinner, buy a Christmas tree and get on with the week!!! Hoping to finback to the gym this week!!!!

@maureli great job on the loss. Any loss is a good loss and should be celebrated.
@nadiamayl you've been quite the traveler too. I have a friend through facebook from the Netherlands, and it sounds like a wonderful place. But so is New Hampshire! :) Let us know if you make it back to the gym and how you do.

Christmas shopping already guys? Man, I'm way behind the two of you. My husband is a huge procrastinator and he's the one with the money. Not having a job has its downfalls. If I had my own money I'd be shopping too @maureli.

We had turkey dinner #2 last night at home this time. My turkey dinner was way better than the one we had on Thanksgiving. Not to knock everyone else's cooking who brought something, but I'm an excellent cook and I like my own cooking. Is that conceited? The family kept complimenting my food too, so it made me feel good. It's nice to have reassurances that I'm doing well at my job.

I haven't got on the scale lately. I'd been bouncing around up and down the same 3 or 4 lbs for quite a while. Don't know where I'm at right now in the bounce.

Let's all start off next week on a good note and aim for a strong 7 days. We can do it!
