Does SL 5x5 sync with MFP?

If not, is it necessary for me to input my strength training, calorie-wise? Or is it just another way to keep track of my lifting progress?

I notice my protein requirements jump when I log cardio, but nothing when I log strength.

Thanks :-) it's no biggie, just wondering if I'm missing something.

i think it's hard to assess the real 'burn' of strength work, in any sense. like, i've never found anything anywhere that gave me a reliable answer or even pretended it had one on how many calories it takes to move x pounds through y range of motion by using z muscle groups.

and i've never come across anything that tried to scale calorie needs by a sets-and-reps per lift thing either. it would be great if we knew, but i think maybe you get no data because afaik nobody really has a way of deriving that data?

Yeah, that makes sense. You burn something doing any work, just don't know how much. I consider unlogged lifting and ab work calories burned a bonus, but not a very big one. The results I get from that work really outweigh any calorie burn, which I love.

It's weird to me that logging lifting doesn't change the protein requirement, but some walking will. I'd think you need to up the protein for additional muscle repair.

i think you do need more protein, especially if you're doing progressive lifting which is intended to make y our body grow new muscle on top of repairing the old stuff.

but again maybe they don't give numbers because the numbers are so unquantifiable.
