Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?

The weather report for today and tomorrow are snow/freezing rain mix. Travel is discouraged. The problem is that my mother (86) and my step-father (86) need some help before Christmas. I was looking forward to spending this pre-Christmas weekend with them. I do feel guilty that I am not able to help them very much. If possible, I hope to get there today. If I do, I'll be back in the no-Verizon-internet zone.
I'll check in with you later!

I too need to get to my parents this weekend. My daughter skyped me with did you get my message? I'm like nope no message she goes I need a white shirt do you have one? I think I am really glad I am 3 inches shorter than her and she can't borrow my pants. Actually I don't own a white blouse I do have a white t shirt a white henley and a white sleeveless top/blouse. So she goes throw in one of your black cardigans and I'll make it work. Part of me is like OMG there goes my blouse as I know that's what she is going to chose. It will not come back the way it went as she is helping out her friends family's restaurant this weekend by busing tables. So I can just kiss my clothes goodbye. Another part of me is thinking well she borrowed my clothes for the restaurant even when I was heavier. Now that we are the same size she just looks better.
I don't see today being too busy it's the calm before the storm. Next week they'll be coming in for the money they need. For those cash gifts. The older people have pretty much already been doing it. I definitely think Xmas has gotten out of hand. I see how much people spend and you want to say it should be about getting together and spending time together. Truly the simple things.
    Have a great day everyone!!

Utter failure on the calorie consumption yesterday. Strike two. Yikes. I am starting out with a plan and good intentions and hoping that today I make better choices.

Ok...so I totally upped my calorie intake for the day and I have scheduled time to exercise and tonight when I go to dinner I already pretty much know what I am going to get to eat and how many calories I will consume as long as there are no problems (like they're out of something or it's no longer on the menu or something like that) I skipped my breakfast this morning and came to work drinking a TON of water, but then went to the office Christmas Potluck and while I can guestimate the number of calories I ate (I think about 800 calories and I'm aiming high) as I started to log...

I realized there is really NO way I can log in everything even close to accurately because we had at least 10 different dishes and I have NO idea what was in each of them! Granted, I only had a couple bites of everything and a couple more bites of my favorite things, but I still am not sure I can even guestimate correctly, so in the interest of being realistic to the challenge and fair to MYSELF and my sense of integrity I am simply going to claim my second PASS of the challenge.

Have a GREAT weekend, I'll make up for it tomorrow and I'll be back to check in on Monday!

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes...70 min at gym...tread and bike and arm/ab iPad app workout

Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? No. It was our date meal. We stayed close to home, as it was snowing. I could have made better choices and had a salad, but I was craving a burger. No regrets; tomorrow is a new day.

Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes I did. In the past, I would've not finished out my diary, but I decided to log everything. Even with the added 550 calories from exercise I was about 350 over. An appetizer and burger and fries will do that. However, I am glad I recorded it...NSV!

Don't worry about not getting to your parents. Even though they need help, you need to stay safe so you can help them later on. I'm sure they would feel the same. My dad will be 83 in a month and still lives on his farm and does farm work, but, thankfully, my brother and his wife live on the property so they keep an eye on him.

We are in a snowstorm right now with up to 9 inches predicted. I am scheduled to work a weekend shift, actually covering for someone. I work from home, so I wouldn't have to step outside at all this weekend if I didn't want to. I would like to get to the gym tomorrow evening, though. The gym is pretty close, and hubby said he would go with me. We'll see...

    Pass Day #2

I didn't make it to the gym, and some after work drinks put me over my calorie limit. On the bright side, I made healthy choices at the grocery store, which will help me later on. Tomorrow will be better :)

My wife told me this morning to save some calories that she was bringing home Christmas goodies from school.
So I went to spin class for 570 ate sparingly afterwards and budgeted 1000 cals for Christmas goodies. I don't know, i kind of think that I am under budget but some of that stuff I didn't know how to gage.

    Strike 4.
I went out with friends and my wine glass kept getting refilled so I think I had a bottle oops (first time in about a year and a half!) and then got hungry so bought a chocolate bar to eat on the way home.

    Yes x 3!
Me and the hubby took a half day to see the new Star wars movie. I chose my lunch poorly and ended up only eating half. It was a good thing because it was a calorie bomb. I still managed to stay under for the day.
