December is the toughest month. Even though, you may not be doing perfectly....do not quit. Keep doing the best that you can. Be truthfully accountable. January will be better if you don't quit. What will really hurt you is just saying, "To hell with it until next month." Then next month, It's "I feel really bad about myself." Enjoy December, but don't quit...even if you won't be in the Winner's Circle, don't put yourself in a Loser's Mindset!!
Your friend, Rick4 -
I am still in. I got enough exercise calorees (680) to eat some pizza.
Jeesh, I hate to eat pizza in front of my wife though. She didn't get no exercise.
Bad news about my exercise is that I am only getting half of what I get when I am climbing.
I gotta find a hill with no snow on it. Bite the bullet and go round the block. Ugh, boring.
I tried some treadmill this morning with 4.2 setting. I think that is mph. I turned up the elevation gage to 7. I don't know what units that calibrates to. But with those two set I could get HR of 130 and knee seemed ok with 15 minutes. I went on that stairmaster and barfed out at like 10 minutes. All of that and some spin got me pretty well drenched. It is a bit weird but I am the only guy that sweats in that gym. I think I got 70 minutes cardio and a bunch of sit up machine. That gym is a competitive body builder gym. They got cardio equipment but use of it isn't all that prominent. Cool. I don't ever have to worry about competition for it.3 -
I know the day isn't over yet, but I have to answer no to these questions.
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? No. We have a snowstorm, so I'm still getting caught up on things from when I was sick. I have been posting a lot of things to sell on Craigslist/Facebook and just sold one Wii game...Yay!
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? No. I ate too much for lunch...just so hungry.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? No. After I had my lunch and with the snow day, I decided to wait till tomorrow to log regularly. I know, it's a cop out, but it feels like a vacation day.

exercise: yes 40 min interval training and abs
calories: yes. Better than yesterday's sugar consumption, but still not perfect.

Exercise? Yes; 34 minutes of strength training and a 20 minute run
Calories? Yes
Tracking? Yes
The gym was nearly empty due to a snow storm this morning. The members at my gym are all wonderful, but it was still really nice to practically have the place to myself.1 -
This was a fun Sunday. We had the granddaughters with us overnight and all day on Sunday. I took them sledding here on our farm. We had lots of laughs and lots of snow. My wife, Rose, spent a couple of hours with the girls as they baked and decorated cookies. A great time was had by all!
Exercise activity: don't know the caloric output, but I know the time spent outdoors with sledding and barn chores was close to 2 hours
Calories: ok by quite a margin today
Tracking: great4 -
Oh wow, sledding! I wish I could do that for exercise every day. I love it and so do my kids. I hope we get snow when we go visit my brother in Michigan end of next week. I think they have snow now.
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, active rest day so just lots of walking.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? No, I ate too many bacon wrapped dates to "test" them before I brought them to a small gathering, but now that I figured out the exact calories, I'll be sure to budget for them next time.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Rick, I really appreciate what you said up above about not quitting. You are absolutely right. That is what I am trying to do. I realize that the best way to keep things from getting out of control is to refocus on the very next meal I can so that one bad meal doesn't turn into two and then a whole day, etc. We have more control than we think we do sometimes.1 -
Exercise? Yes, I ran around the house with my kiddo for a long while today along with some housework.
Calories? It was really close but I stayed under
Tracked? Every bite!
Thank you for the inspiration Rick! You are absolutely right. This is going to be a really tough month for me. Exercising is helping earn extra calories so I can indulge and it is helping with holiday stress. I just need to stay positive and keep going!1 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Yes. 20 minutes leisurely walking...had wanted to do more, but just couldn't muster up the gumption.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Yes.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?
Yes.2 -
DECEMBER 11 - pass again.0

Pass day! I'm officially out of the winner's circle this month. December has been a tough one so far. Too many goodies everywhere so I need to either practice more self control or be okay with the fact that I won't be losing any weight this month.1

Late but it's a yes x 3!!
I don't want to jinx it but it seems like this ill household are almost healthy again. At last! No quitting yet.1 -
