    Me me me! Hesitantly I jumped on the scale to see post-vacay damage.... HA, I lost 2lbs! It must've been all the energy my body spent warming up in the cold mountains... hehehe
    Nah, joking aside, I hoped I wasn't gaining, I ate and enjoyed every craving of authentic Mexican food but I did it moderately! It worked! Set the Xmas tree, unpacked, did laundry and now ready to go to bed! I'm pooped!
    How's everyone's Monday going? LANs of attack for this week? Mine is to drink tons of water and try to go to the gym at least 2x, preferably 3x.
    Hubs just left for a 3 week trip to Holland today, so it's going to be a Loooong few weeks! :P

    Oh wow @nadiamayl!!!! Lost 2 lbs?! That's amazing, and I'm so happy for you!! I hesitantly jumped on the scale to see my post holiday damage....and I gained 4 lbs. I haven't even been eating that much! I'm baffled. Seriously confused. I ate moderate portions and had three pieces of pie over the whole holiday weekend. That certainly doesn't equate to 4 lbs. Ugh. I hope it comes off quickly.

    Plan of attack for this week? Keep drinking diet soda. I've had a few here and there, but for the most part I'm doing pretty well. I just need to be diligent so as to not slip back into old bad, sugary habits.

    I'll check the scale again tomorrow to see if there's any difference. I'm hoping it's sodium or something and is just a fluke and not actual weight gain.

    I'm in!! I find if I don't check in during the morning....it just doesn't happen. I worked yesterday 8-5. Took some of my homemade minestrone soup and a banana. I like having soup in the freezer so if I don't feel like making a salad I can just pull that out. So easy.

    I guess my goal for the week is to either not snack after supper or if I'm really wanting something to keep it to just a serving of my mini-rice cakes. Just enough to curb the craving. Last week I was down .5 lbs. Hoping for better this week.

    @nadiamayal - wow, 2 lbs that is fantastic! Yup, I think it was all the energy you spent keeping warm up there in the mountains. lol I am hoping to get my Christmas stuff out this week. I'll start today.

    @azlisalou - I bet that 4 lbs is water and its going to come of within a day or two. If you drink up lots of water you will rid yourself of it. Good job on the soda! If a diet soda helps ween you off....I say go for it.

    My hubby is a lobster fisherman and their season just opened today. So, he will be out on the water pretty steady now. It is a beautiful day for them to start, but its always a bit nerve-wracking.

    Got out yesterday for a 5K run, the weather was perfect....cool yet calm. Not a breath of wind. However my iPhone died mid way so I ended up with no music. Which always sucks for me because I have a hard time running without it. Listening to myself huff and puff seems to double the effort! lol
    Anyway, I need to get a lot of stuff done around the house today, I think I am going to Halfiax shopping tomorrow, which will be a long day. Hopefully I'll get a lot of Christmas shopping done.
    What is everyone else up to?

    @maureli fantastic job getting out and doing a 5k! That's quite an accomplishment!

    Well, after I told you two that I gained something like 4 lbs over Thanksgiving when I didn't indulge that much, I weighed myself again and have gained another 1.5 lbs in the past 2 days. something is going on other than actually gaining weight. Discouraged.

    @AZLisaLou ugh so frustrating girl!! But you said it, this has to be something else... you can't be gaining this much unless you e consumed more than 10,000 calories! Check your sodium and water intake, PMS. Etc... don't give up! It'll bounce off.
    @maureli stinky quitting phone, hehehe. I can't run if I don't have a distraction! I find most exercise tremendously boring... hahaha but we push through! I have a few friends from Nova Scotia and often speak of Halifax! Beautiful place for what I've seen in pictures. But isn't it getting cold?
    My days? Studying for the test, finishing decorating the house, PTA, mundane stuff...

    Christmas shopping trip went well! Definitely got a good dent in it....although I am far from done. I need to make a list. I was suppose to do that before I went yesterday and I didn't. We left at 7am, got there around 10 is, and only left to come home around 6pm. I'm feeling a bit tired this morning!
    As for food. I ate my usaual breakfast, then ate a lebanese wrap for lunch (it was delicious and full of veggies - even pickled turnip) and then I did splurge on dinner with a plate of linguine chicken tettrazini. It was good and something that I rarely do. But of course this morning I am wishing that I hadn't. lol

    @AZLisaLou - I agree about the gain, it has to be something other than that. Sodium? So frustrating I am sure.
    @NadiaMayl - yep, it is getting cold. We haven't had snow here yet (although other places in the province has). This morning its 7*C which is about 44*F I think.

    Really not sure what to do today. I will try to get some exercise in, not sure exactly what. And try to behave in the food department after my delicious pasta splurge.

    Falling off the rails again. Ugh. Gotta get back up before it turns into another disaster. I just get so frustrated and discouraged. Then I figure...why bother? I know that kind of thinking is like cancer to a healthy eating plan, and I TRY not to do it, but it just creeps up on me.

    I got the results back from my blood tests I just had done a few weeks ago. I already told you my A1c went down significantly, but I didn't know the results for the other stuff. Turns out all my cholesterol levels are normal as well as any of the other tests they did. The only thing that was high was my glucose. Good to know my thyroid is normal too. On one hand, I wish I had something to blame other than me stuffing my face, but in reality a healthy thyroid is a good thing.

    Will try to do better tomorrow.

    Sorry I haven't checked in for a bit. Its been busy around here. I went to an early staff Christmas party on Saturday. Did fine with the eating part....but not so much with the wine! haha...holy moly. I think I am still recovering. It was fun though.
    Worked yesterday , today I'll just stay home and get the rest of my Christmas stuff out and then I am going back to Halifax tomorrow with my parents. Hopefully I can get a few more things there and then be almost done.
    I haven't exercised since Friday so I will definitely get something in today. I woke up to snow on the ground this morning, not a ton, but enough to have to push it off the deck.

    @AZLisaLou - how are things going? I hope you are back on track, it is so easy to get discouraged especially this time of year. There are so many temptations. Definitely good news on the thyroid. I have a friend with thyroid problems and she is constantly trying t get her meds sorted.

    Well, I should go and get my day started. Hope you all have a good one :)
