Yesterday, in the evening, I decided to make oatmeal. I love real oatmeal, but I do not like packaged instant oatmeal. Last week @phoebelaya shared how she had prepared some meals in advance. Last year, one of my friends, taught me to prepare multiple servings of oatmeal in advance. I use Bob's Red Mill Old Fashioned Oatmeal, but you can choose whichever you prefer, including steel cut oats. I triple the 2 serving recipe on the package and wind up with about (9) 3/4 cup servings. I use the Glad 1 cup reusable containers and freeze them. That way, I can take one out whenever I want one and just heat it up in the microwave. They are great for breakfast or for lunch. Sweeten to taste with whatever you use.
I add shaved almonds, cinnamon and flaxseed meal to my recipe. Oatmeal is so easy to modify to your own personal taste.

@Shutterbugg - I had missed that about your kitty escaping and missing. I went back and found your post. I am so sorry to hear this. I can understand that you must be so worried! We have two cats and I know how special they are to us. I am hoping that she is just out exploring and will be home soon!! It is difficult to do, but try not to eat your stress.1

@hkaccompanist Congrats on the 10 lbs! Woo hoo!
@phoebelayla Thank you. It has been a rough couple days for sure. She is my lap cat and a big part of our family. We hope she is just hiding out and will be back soon. I'm usually good about not stress eating but I couldn't resist the cake last night.1 -

JANUARY 23 - I'm an oatmeal girl too. I make a pot of steel cut oats for the week and fix a half cup every morning with some fruit and little nuts, like for years! That, along with one or two soft boiled eggs is my standard fare. I see this little oatmeal ritual as a reset button to nip in the bud any indulgent trends from the day before and my basic salutation to a healthy day.
@Shutterbugg - I hope your kitty comes home soon! @hkaccompanist - woohoo!!!

Yes, yes and yes. I have to say I barely get under the calorie budget as I have no idea 10 sweet and tangy meatballs has 600 calories! So shocked!
I tried to like oatmeal, but it's definitely not on my list. Give me chills just by thinking about that2 -
I like steel cut oats. I soak them over night in water with a little ACV. That way they cook faster in the morning. I usually do 4 servings at a time.
@hkaccompanist 10 pounds is awesome, congratulations!
@Shutterbugg I am sorry about your kitty. I hope she comes home soon.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? NO, not unless I could grocery shopping, cooking 3 meals for my sister and being on my feel all day...lol

Sorry I haven't been tracking. I was out of town from Fri-Sun for a mini vacation, so I didn't record my food. Exercise was kind of lacking, too, though I got to go in the pool at the hotel and do some floating (which is pretty much all I can do re swimming...haha)1
