Christmas at the barn?

Do you do anything Christmassy at the barn? Stockings or treats for the horses? My guys are getting a red delicious for Christmas morning. My old boarding stable had a stall door decorating contest that was fun and festive.

    I guess ours did a Christmas thing yesterday but I heard about it way too late to go. Seems lately a lot of the stuff there is last minute so I keep missing it.

    I'll be feeding breakfast and doing stalls for Christmas. I'm surprised our barn doesn't do anything...it's a pony club barn with lots of kids.
    I was at a barn for a few months a couple of years ago that had the whole place decorated with trees and lights. I hated the lights just because they were left on when no one was at the barn and fires are my absolute worst nightmare. I was definitely the scrooge of the barn... bah humbug! :blush:

    The lights I wouldn't like if they were being left on either. The trainer I ride with now used to do a ton of stuff around the Holidays. And now she still does it but it is so last minute and not well put together. I appreciate her effort though -- maybe for the next upcoming Holiday, like Easter, I should offer some help. Get a sign up sheet going, a FB invite, etc.

    We have a really good group at our barn right now. Someone hosted a little holiday happyhour last weekend, we all went in on gifts for the barn manager and the girls who feed and do stalls so they got nice things instead of trinkets. I spent all day today body clipping (well - bathing, riding, clipping then bathing again) & was interrupted with a glass of champagne - took a break to have a toast with a few friends, really appreciating the drama-free, everyone can enjoy their horses the way they want to barn:) Hope everyone enjoys the holiday exactly the way they want to!

    @jlyle73 , sounds great! Someone did bring me hot chocolate while I did stalls today so that was nice. We don't have hot water at the barn I'm at, so my boys are so disgusting. Can't wait to get to Aiken to bathe and clip! And to gallop and jump stuff ;) 3 weeks!

    @ crimsongrey Bet those pony club kids would love to put some pics of themselves and their horses on the stall doors. We didn't do any lights. I'm with you on avoiding any fire hazards. Mm, hot cocoa!
    @jlyle73 Sounds like a fun group. How nice.
