Does anyone have any tips for getting through a visit to the grocery store? I need to go right now or I won't have any dinner (which my ed brain loves) but I'm too terrified to go!!! I'm so nervous and I keep crying and no one understands what it feels like because no one around me has an ed so i don't know what to do! I dont wanna binge and purge and when i go into one i just freak and buy everything. should i just buy dinner tonight and breakfast tomorrow? what if i eat tomorrows breakfast tonight and then purge??

I'm sorry i know I sound crazy.

I know this answer is a little delayed since you were looking for help yesterday .. but I would eat something before you go. Whatever you do, don't go hungry.. have some oatmeal perhaps, a protein shake, a smoothie? Something that's a healthy choice that can at least fill you up. If you have none of those at home then even drink a bunch of water til you don't feel hungry anymore. I know it's not the same as food, but sometimes it can at least keep the hunger at bay for a bit. Whenever I grocery shop I keep blinders on when it comes to putting bad food in the cart. I think about my goals ( getting into better shape, losing weight etc.) and try to stay strong and resist the bad things. They say willpower is like a muscle, and the more you use it, the more control you will have. Meal planning can also help you stick to a list, and keep you from getting junk.

I'm sorry no one was there for you yesterday during your time of need, but I hope these suggestions might help. I'm here if you need additional support! Please feel free to add me if you'd like! Have a great day:)

Hey, I know this isn't necessarily help, but I wanted to let you know I get it! The grocery store gives me terrible anxiety. I get overwhelmed and often end up wandering the story, despite having a list.

What I do is head for what you need then get out. Dont look around. Then when u get home put breakfast where you wont see it and try some distractions
