    Great plan @2020pinktogo !

My # one goal is to get back to the gym and try to tone up this flabby body.

I would like to lose four more pounds. If it happens, great. If not, I'm okay with it.

I need to learn to handle stress better but I don't know how to do that. I had bad headaches due to stress last month. I had to get a shot and take prescription pain reliever and anti-anxiety medication to help relief the pain. I could have worked out to relief some of the stress but I didn't feel like I had the time. I did see the chiropractor some and get massages.

My birthday is this month so I have to prepare to eat birthday cake at work. Ugh!!!!

My lunch dessert today is a big ol honey crisp apple and a cup of caramel flavored coffee. Yum!!! I love flavored coffee! Flavored carbonated water is pretty good too.

Happy New Year! I continued the celebration most of the day yesterday. In my family, celebration = eating. Today the celebration is over. All the evil food is gone. I will be restocking with healthier choices. I only have chicken and veggies in the fridge at the moment. I wanted to take an early walk today, but it's raining! I think it will clear up by noon though. I hope so anyway. Tomorrow I go back to work and finally back to a routine day. I do much better on a routine day.
    Again, Happy New Year!!!!

@NewOR2015 I don't know of anyone who socializes without food. Good for you for getting all the unhealthy food out of the house. As much as I don't like routine, I do better on it also.

I had a quiet day by myself yesterday as I am trying to recover from a cold and ear infection. I did talk to a friend and texted a couple of others. I spent most of the day in bed resting.

I return to work today. I don't feel like it but I need to go because the lady who helps me do my work had surgery Friday and will be off work for up to 2 weeks. Someone has to do my work. It's raining and it sounds like it's coming down a lot. Oh how I could stay home in my jammies again today.

I have committed to meet my workout partner after work. She had been sick also. We will probably just do a light workout to get back in the swing of things.

    Happy Monday!

I did go to the gym tonight . It felt great after being absent for 3 months. I started off really slow on the treadmill but ended up walking 2 miles in just over 30 minutes. Not bad, especially considering I have been sick with a cold and ear infection for a week! The endorphin high afterwards was terrific!

    Happy New Year, Everyone!

You all seem to be on the right track! I did join WeightWatchers last week. Tomorrow is my first weigh-in. I'll be happy if I didn't gain. I did really well on their new points system, and I did exercise more. That's what I love about the New Year- brand-new start and so motivated to eat well and exercise.

Tomorrow we're going to my in-laws for a few days. I'm determined to do at least 15 min of yoga each day. There should be plenty of opportunities for walks.

    My goals are:
    Lose 12 lbs
    drink more water
    yoga year
    exercise 3x/wk

@NewOR2015 -- Way to go clearing out the junk food. So many would've just eaten it.

@1skholloway -- Glad you felt well enough to go to the gym and walk so much.

@2020pinktogo --Those look like great goals. You can do it!!

@JanolaBarbara it's good to hear from you again. Good for you for joining Weight Watchers! I think with only 12 pounds to lose so many people would have thought they could do that on their on and not sought a support group. You can do this!

Hi, ladies. Reading your posts is motivating! So far, I'm doing okay now that it's back to work, back to routine days. But reading your posts makes me feel I can do more! And now that it's January again, I can once again aim at getting "slim by summer". Speaking of, where's our summer girl, Captain Boing?

@1skholloway -- Thanks! I'm still at my in-laws. I've been making pretty good food choices, considering. I've managed to walk every day and do yoga every day. As much as I enjoy my husband's family, it'll be nice to go home and try to have a normal routine!

@NewOR2015 == Yup! Back to routine! I can't wait to finally have more control over my food and activity. I know you can do it!

Yes, I've joined WW. I am tracking my food on their site, but checking in here. It's a bit of a hassle balancing the two sites.

Hello, Ladies! Checking in with you all today. How is it going? How are you doing? Any new foods or recipes? Any NSVs?

We're getting ready to go home. Home! It'll be nice to get back to my routine. Overall, I think I made decent choices. I'm very proud of myself for having done yoga every day. I drank a bit more wine than I should've, lol, but ate a lot of salad. :-)

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. I haven't posted much lately because I just don't feel like I have anything new to post.

I went to the gym 4 days last week. I started out very strong. By Thursday, I was happy to complete 30 minutes on the treadmill and it was not close to my fastest time. That's probably to be expected for my first week back since I lifted weights and did cardio the 3 previous days.

We had a little (and I mean very little) sleet Friday morning but schools closed Friday afternoon in anticipation of more so my office closed. We saw no more precipitation but we had very cold temps for us (around 20 degrees). I didn't even stick my head out the door of my house Saturday. I meant to walk 800 steps Saturday evening to get my steps to 5,000 and I ended up walking 5,800 steps so I could reach 10,000 steps for the day. I ended up having a good work out in my house.

It's getting very hard to lose weight. I ate 1228 calories yesterday. I walked at least 250 steps each hour for 10 hours and ended up walking about 7200 steps. I exercised for 15 minutes. Y'all, I gained about 1/2 pound today. I know it's probably water. I haven't lost any weight in the last week. It could be because I'm lifting weights also. I guess I need to talk to the trainer at the gym. I'm ok at my current weight but I am trying to lose a few more pounds. What I want more than to lose weight is to lose the fat on my belly through exercise and diet and not liposuction. Is it possible???? I'm going to continue to try.

    I hope y'all have a great Monday!

Hi, all. Yes, it's back to routine, but it's also very busy at work. I've got a new boss, and she has a long list of things she wants done, and she means yesterday. I don't have much time to think let alone post. Hopefully, either I'll get used to the new pace or my new boss will ease up some. Once we get used to each other things should be fine. I hope.

@JanolaBarbara No new foods, recipes, or NSVs. :(

Gosh we have been a quiet group lately. I survived birthday at the office. The lady who drew my name made 2 big sheet cakes. Plus she put mini candy bars on the tables and had ice cream to serve with the cakes. One of the cakes wasn't even cut and she wanted me to bring it home with me. I told her someone could take it home. I allowed myself one piece of cake. It was bigger than I would have cut but I ate the whole thing. We ate cake at 10 and I was hungry before noon. It tasted pretty good but I didn't like getting so hungry so quickly. We then went to lunch at the restaurant of my choice. I chose a fish restaurant at which I knew I could get grilled fish and veggies. Someone ordered cheese sticks as an appetizer for the table. They were handmade and everyone kept talking about how good the breading on the outside was. I resisted. I was tired during the afternoon and just wanted a nap. I don't know if I had cake hangover or was just tired.

Unfortunately, I had to go to the grocery after work. I went to a market near work. I bought more than I planned with the hopes of making some healthy dishes this weekend. My big project for the day is to make non dairy low fat yogurt in my electric pressure cooker that I bought on black Friday and have hardly used. Since I was sick in the fall, it seems to have left me with some lactose intolerance. I follow a group on Facebook that cooks in this thing all the time and they enjoy making yogurt in it. It's a long process. It cooks 8 hours. If you choose to strain it, it has to strain at least 4 hours. I hope this turns out ok.

Hello, everyone! Yeah, we've been quiet but I've still been plugging away. I weighed myself the morning after we got back from Phoenix and I was up 1.4lbs. I wasn't angry or depressed; I had made the best choices I could and was determined to get back on plan. Since then (5 days) I've LOST 3.4 lbs!!! Yay, me! You don't always get such quick results when you get back on track, but I'm so happy I did! Definitely motivated to continue making healthy food choices and getting in my exercise.

@1skholloway -- I think you did great on your birthday at the office. Let us know what types of meals you end up making. Does your DH eat the same things you do? I'm also curious to see how your yogurt turns out.

@NewOR2015 -- Hope it all turns out well under your new boss. Have a good week!

It seems like I posted just yesterday, and it's been a week! I've been swallowed up by my new workload. If it doesn't ease up, I'm going to have to start thinking about a new job for next year.

@1skholloway You did great on your birthday! I don't think I could have turned down more cake. I love sweets...and one piece would have led to another...and another....

@JanolaBarbara Congrats on getting back on track so quickly and so successfully!

Well I too am just busy trying to get back my exercise mojo. I am using the elliptical at work during my lunch. When the weather is crappy it's like such an effort this week was easier as the weather was really nice and my thought is time to get my rear in gear. I am also sitting more so I am noticing I am getting a tummy. I will have to work on that.

I have also noticed I am turning into some kind of clothes diva. How can I go from last year having 1 tote of clothes to having a ton of clothes for each season. For instance last weekend I spent 22. At Macy's I got 7 sweaters and a pair of pants . My mom was amazed so was I but as I share my clothes with my daughter I am never quite sure what she may borrow so now I get extra in case things disappear. It happens more often than I would like. Lol She does ask is this one of your favorites or just an outfit?

Great job everyone in getting back on track!

Cold day today but still running around. When I first started at mfp it was quite a challenge to get in 10,000 steps a day. Now, I can't see how I could possibly not get at least 10,000 a day.

@2020pinktogo Sorry to hear about your cold. Seems our thread has gone cold too. I know I've just been too busy to even remember to log in daily. But I'm not giving up. I'll keep checking in when I get the chance.

I hope everyone is doing well!

The weather has been nice lately, and I've been getting my walking done with no problems. Still too many sweets in my life though. Gotta try to resist. Just a few months before summer rolls around again.
