Feel like I can't get it together.

So maybe I'm expecting too much of myself. But I can't seem to take care of myself, exercise, take care of MIles, and keep up with work...and get enough sleep. I currently put work on the end of the list, but I have to get caught up and it's stupid to wait until the end of the month all the time. I just need to suck it up and work some nights and weekends, but it's just so hard. On weekdays I usually get home around 7/8, then workout around 9/10 after Miles goes to bed. By then I just want to relax for a few and then sleep. And btw my work is somewhat flexible so my parents watch him while I have to be somewhere but I don't have enough day time to get my paperwork done. Just wanted to vent and any suggestions are welcome! Oh and I could try working out in the morning, it has just never worked for me. I probably just need to come to terms with getting less than 8 hours of sleep...pregnancy and a newborn have really made me appreciate my sleep!

I have days when I feel like this. I can relate. My son is 7 months old and I don't still have it together yet, lol. I'm trying, though. Now that he's getting a bit more independent (he is sitting up and almost crawling) it is helping a lot because he can play without me having to hold him all the time. I exercise in the morning on my treadmill after I give him his morning bottle but I think my days are numbered. He's trying to twist out of his bouncy seat now instead of sitting nicely while I do my thing. He doesn't like his packnplay so that's out. How I get housework done is I put him in his highchair and wheel him around from room to room. So far this still works, lol. I also have a teenager and she helps out. When she goes back to school I'm going to be so sad. I forgot how much work babies are and I miss my sleep. Well, at least he's super cute ;-)

I totally understand. I work full time, go to school full time, and have 2 under 2!! It is exhausting. I always seem to have it together but I let one thing slide. For example, right now I am going to work, keeping up with my studies, and working out quite a bit...BUT I have been eating so much crap this week. It's like no self control!!!! This always seems to be the case. It's like i can't juggle it all and the pressure builds and I let something slide. Unfortunately, I am an emotional eater so right now that's what I am letting get the best of me. I think it's all about mindset. Whenever I get my "head in the game" it seems like I can do it all. But, right now I am tired and feeling stressed and weak. Get your sleep and do the best you can. As a mom, I can honestly say if you're not sleeping decently nothing is going to work well.

I feel like we've just recently gotten into a better routine...I wake up at 5AM because I work 7-5. Once I'm done pumping at work (probably 6-8 more months), I plan to exercise on my lunch break like I used to - but until then, I have to fit it in at night. I refuse to give up a minute with my baby because I don't see him all day - so, 5:45-7PM is my "no chore" time where I just play with my son. He usually goes to bed between 7-8, so once he's down for the night, it's ON! My husband and I split everything - cooking, cleaning up after dinner, getting bottles ready for the next day, washing/sterilizing bottles and pump parts, washing diapers. He is a HUGE help!!! My rule is that if we're finished by 8:30, I work out for 30-45 minutes, shower, and get to bed by 9:30 or 10. If it's later than that, I won't do it, because I can't get too run down (we are still up a lot during the night nursing). I average about 5-6 hours of sleep per night, so I can't do any less! I find that setting that 8:30 "deadline" helps to take the option out of working out. It's really tempting to just go to bed most nights, but I think of how Camden needs a healthy and less stressed mama, and exercise is one way to help me be both of those. I would much rather work out in the morning, but I can't make myself wake up at 4 :) If you can fit it in during the morning, I think that would help a lot! Otherwise, maybe try a deadline idea.

Thanks ladies. I'm just going to have to stay up later some nights after I workout and get some work done, or work a few hours on the weekends. I am not giving up exercise, and maybe only a little sleep. I could probably survive on 6-7 most days. I just historically haven't been able to make myself get up to workout and when I do workout in teh morning, I feel like I can't give it my all because I don't have enough energy.

Beware when cutting down on sleep that it can directly effect your happiness/hormones if you're tired all the time, so make a mental note of that beforehand incase in a few weeks you're feeling run down and blue and don't know why.
