Have your husbands/SOs lost their "baby weight?"

My husband is a skinny guy anyways and has weighed less than me for a few years now...but, he gained 20-25lbs with me during pregnancy since we ate at restaurants so often and had ice cream every night. Our son turned 6 months yesterday and my husband has lost it all, without a ton of effort! He has started working out again the last two weeks, and just eating a little better, but it just FELL OFF him. I'm really proud of him, but I think it just adds to the frustration of me only being ~18lbs less than I was when I delivered and having ~25 to go until pre-pregnancy weight plus another 50 to goal. Maybe that will be my motivation to stop eating crap and get it together!!!!!!!!!

My husband also gained a bunch of weight with me while I was pregnant. I have been logging on here for 200 days and am just now 50 pounds down. He decided he would start trying with me a couple of months ago, and lost it all within about 60 days. We were logging everyday together which helped me alot. It also just fell off of him. He does have a somewhat strenuous job but still, with the way he eats, I couldnt believe it!! He is having a hard time maintaining. WTH?? He is now 146 and I am 149. It as just taking me sooo much longer!!

My DH didn't gain any baby weight with me, he actually ended up losing 10 lbs in just a few weeks when I started making his lunch for him during my 3rd trimester (this started because I got after him over the amount of cheese he was putting in his sandwiches). He regained it after our daughter was born and I didn't have time to make his lunch in the evenings anymore. Maybe now that she's older I should start again!

Anyway, I think it's a hormone/gender thing. Our bodies are designed to store fat for baby making/feeding purposes, whereas theirs aren't.

My husband didn't gain with me during either pregnancy. He has a very hard time gaining weight, poor guy. We used to weight about the same, but now I'm about 25 lbs heavier than him.

Mine didn't gain anything either! But - he was amazing and followed the GD diet with me throughout my pregnancy. I think he gained a few pounds after Max was born because my lactation cookies disappeared really fast. He's back in fighting shape now, though.

I agree that men have it easier in the post-baby weight loss!

My husband hasn't gained weight with me either pregnancy and even if he does gain weight he's pretty good about staying within 10lb frame, as soon as he hits the 11th lb he goes on a diet and loses his weigh in a couple weeks =/ we have weighed the same once, when I was pregnant with my daughter, I vowed to never hit that number again. Lol
I hit close to 195 and he weighed about the same during that time, I was quite embarrassed. But thankfully after a lot of effort I lost it all and hit my goal of 123-125 within a few months of hardcore dedication. This time around with my son I went up to 158 and currently at 134-135. My husband is also on his higher side of 197 now and determined to lose some weight, so hopefully we can lose these 10lbs together. I'm it will take him 2 wks and it will take me 5months. Lol. He tried doing a DVD with me and stopped 1min into it and told me that since I'm doing these DVD and since they are so hard, why haven't I lost all the weight yet. Smh

My husband gained weight with me for both pregnancies. He gained much more the first time, and within a few months he had lost it just by our not eating out at restaurants and getting take-out all the time. This time because we have an older child, we couldn't go out to eat or run out for take-out whenever we wanted, so he didn't gain as much. However even though we've been eating better, we are 8 weeks postpartum, and he has yet to lose anything. He is a bit self-conscious because his pants don't fit as well, which of course is uncomfortable, and he said that he wants my help calculating his TDEE -20% and that he would start logging when I started.

Well, I started in early June, and he has yet to start. I think he thinks I'm doing MFP "lite" while I'm nursing because I still eat a lot (2200 cals/day) and am not exercising much at all (baby won't let me put him down long enough to work out, and it's far too hot and humid to walk). I think he's waiting for me to go hardcore, but that's not happening until this baby is sleeping through most of the night. He told me he wants to start Spinning with me, so I said that when we did we'd have to alternate classes so that the other could watch the kids, and he got all sad that we wouldn't be going together. I was like, I'm not hiring a babysitter to go work out, and the only people who can watch them otherwise are my sister and her husband - both of whom Spin at the same place and have to alternate so that the other watches their kids. I am super spoiled, too, about my Spinning studio; all the local gyms' Spinning programs and equipment pale in comparison, and none of them have child care anyway. Our best bet is, once our younger one is in preschool, which is in another year, we can go together at lunchtime during the week, but that will be rare because of work.

Anyway, I think he *wants* to join me but kind of isn't ready. I think he's also of the mindset that exercise will make him lose weight (as opposed to focusing on eating) and/or thinks that when I calculate his TDEE -20%, he will have to be really restrictive, which I highly doubt. I guess when he's ready, he'll be ready :-/

He's lucky, though, in that he's never really had a weight problem, so when he gains, it usually doesn't take much for him to lose. He's also pretty much weighed less than I have for as long as I've known him (he's about 3 inches taller than I am). That kills me! My last boyfriend before dating him was 6'4" and made me feel all little, which was totally new to me. Of course I'm happier with my husband, but it was a nice perk!
