It depends on your activity level prior to pregnancy. Now is not the time to start a rigorous workout routine. I'm currently 21 weeks and have recently had to start using my elliptical machine primarily instead of running. Elliptical workouts are easy on your joints and I have found it is easier on my back. I also started doing water aerobics on the weekend, and they have been really good too. A good brisk walk can be great to start with, and then if you feel like you can do more, try it, but listen to your body. Remember that you only need about an extra 200-300 calories a day while pregnant if you are concerned about excess weight gain during pregnancy. Congratulations and good luck!0

Yep, I agree with Molly.
I was very active prior to getting pregnant. During my first trimester I didn't do much (this is an IVF pregnancy so I was especially cautious, especially after having a miscarriage in January).
Once I got back into exercise around 13 weeks I did keep it simple though, and my fitness level had decreased during 3 months of laziness. So it was walking instead of running.....cycling 10 miles instead of my usual 40.... Add in some weights and stretching/yoga and I feel pretty good. Listen to your body, it'll tell you when you've had enough.0 -
just wanted to add that for those looking for a home workout DVD you should check out ''Body by Trimester'' by Joy southworth. You get a great workout in 30 minutes.0
