Porridge is my favourite way to start the day, even in the summer. It fills me up for hours and is very low in calories. I add my favourite low cal sweetener, Splenda for a bit of extra flavour - only 2 cals.
50grams of porridge oats - 136 cals.
Sweetener (sugar Free) - 2 cals.
(Goats) Milk - Skimmed or semi skimmed - 150mls - 60 cals. I use semi skimmed goats milk as it digests better.
Water - 130mls - 0 cals.
Heat for 3.5 minutes in microwave, stir after 2.5 minutes.
Leave to cool a little, especially in the summer. This can help the liquid absorb even more into the oats making you feel full longer as the water takes much longer to leave the stomach as it is absorbed into the oats.
