Diabetes Accountability

Hi, I am looking for accountability partners. If you have diabetes I could really use you as a friend because I'm brand new to having it.

In 2004 I was diagnosed with PCOS. This week I was diagnosed with diabetes. I was the highest weight I had ever been at my doctor visit Monday... 303 pounds. I immediately gave up all sweet drinks, only drinking water and unsweet tea. Just that change alone got rid of what is probably water gain. I am now at 206.7... That's 6.3 pounds lost since Monday (I'm guessing the caffeine in the tea is contributing to the water gain loss).

If you want to be my friend please send me a request.

I am morbidly obese, still. I also suffer PCOS, hypothyroidism, and a few other issues, including insulin resistance.

I'm still considered not even pre-diabetic, but recent studies I've done show that with elevated insulin levels, even with still moderate glucose levels, I'm pre-pre-diabetic....or diabetic in situ (waiting, on deck, etc.).

Personally, I've struggled with a plan - I did keto for 18 months, but each time I tightened down my carb levels enough for weight loss, I restricted necessary nutrients or something, and my thyroid function dropped down even worse that it was, despite attempting to manage with medications.

community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/3070-p-c-o-sis This is my favorite PCOS group on MFP...

My own personal heaviest medically recorded weight was 319 pounds, though I'm fairly sure it was higher before I starting losing again. I'm in the 275-280 range at the moment, though my lightest weight in 2015 was around 239... I'm focusing more on whole body health and healing at the moment than health loss... Tightly tracking seems to send me spinning towards compulsive and binge eating, so I don't do that, but if this type of accountability is helpful to you, please feel free to send me a friend request!

Congrats on giving up sweet drinks. It's really hard sometimes... Sending you good luck. @LithaSonner
