I am 62 and obese. I have Leslie's Walk It Off In 30 Days. Is that a good start? It alternates days with cardio and strength.

    Hello twokatlover,

Up front I have to say I have not done this workout before, but I did look at it on youtube

If you haven't exercised in a while, it would be a good idea to watch the entire workout before doing it. Leslie also recommends just doing 10 minutes if you are just starting out. Try doing a little bit more each time you do the workout. DO NOT be afraid that you will not benefit by not finishing the video. The good thing about exercise is the cumulative effect of conditioning your muscles and building your cardiovascular capability. On the strength portion-start out without weights or use very light weights, no more than 3 lbs each. When that feels too easy, move up in weight.

I've been "marching" with Leslie since the 80's! Love her workouts. To me they are safe and effective. I started out with her Basic Stepping And Walk Aerobics. I was hooked. My all time favorite work DVD is The 4 Mile Super Challenge. Her cueing is very good and it is a fun, sweaty workout. I like her newer stuff too. The 5 Mile Slim Down is a good one (Ha-ha, not quite so new, I think it's from 2008), as well as Walk Off Fat Fast and The Belly Blasting walk. Oh, and the Mix and Match Walk Blasters-a good one. It's 10 10 minute workouts all different but fun.

I hope this info. helps. Maybe someone who has actually done it will post and give you a better idea about this particular workout.
