I'm really confused on where to log.

I'm using the fitbit flex and I'm confused about where to log my treadmill workouts. I don't wear it while on the treadmill so I manually log. When I manually log in fitbit, it adds to my step count which I like. The problem with that is it seems to give me a much lower calorie burn than my treadmill. If I log in mfp, it doesn't up my daily steps in fitbit, but I can enter what my treadmill says I burned. Suggestions? :s

Why don't you wear your Fitbit when you're on the treadmill? You'll get the credit for the steps you take and it'll give you the calories burned. That's pretty much the point of having it.

I agree with Malibu. Wearing your fitbit in the treadmill would be the easiest fox for your problem. If for some reason you can't wear it, I think logging in fitbit would probably be best. Mine usually will not start adding calories until I get to at least 8000 steps, so if you had a day where you did not reach that even with the treadmill no calories would be added. If you put it in thru myfitnesspal the calories will be added no matter what.

all of this is a guide to teach and help you understand your caloric intake and out put.. keep doing what you're doing ! moving and recording what you eat. its fun not science

And when you manually log on Fitbit - you can manually add the calorie burn too.

It says Optional for filling it in. If left blank Fitbit does exactly what the device was going to do - distance and time is pace and your weight in a formula for calories.

You can also start an Activity Record to see what stats the Fitbit came up with by putting in start and end time - you'll see the steps, distance, and calories Fitbit came up with.

If it's that far off (which means your stride length could be, but if walking it could be correct for majority of your day, but wrong for exercise walking, which is smarter) - you can then enter in a Workout Record with start time and Duration, and distance, and your own calories.
That will then replace the stats in your daily stats.

You can leave that Activity Record in place - it's merely a snapshot at that point of what Fitbit saw originally.
Your Workout Record shows what it was replaced with.
Which can be interesting upon review.
