Who's in?
I had a pretty good weekend food-wise, but I definitely drank too much soda. I'm feeling pretty good about where I'm at to start the week. I didn't go completely off the rails so that I feel like I'm starting over again 3 days after a good weigh-in.
Getting a new toy later today. My new pressure cooker is going to be delivered. I've never had one before, so I'm really anxious to see all that it can do. I bought a beef roast to cook in it. I didn't buy any junk food at the grocery store today, but my family rebels if they have no snacks or treats. So two other things I'm making in the pressure cooker is a small (7") salted caramel cheesecake (to be shared by 6 people, so we're talking small pieces which won't wreck my diet), and a batch of rice pudding. I don't feel too guilty about the rice pudding. It's got a lot of carbs I understand, but I can have small servings throughout the week and make it last.
I am loving the egg/cheese/ham sandwiches I've been making on the Hungry Girl Flatout Foldit bread. Home made is so much better than McD's. Tonight I made one with 2 eggs, 1 piece of ham and 1 piece of cheese and it was a filling dinner. I'm also still loving my almost daily treat of a Fuji apple with peanut butter. Tonight I was craving sugary junk food. Since we didn't have any I knew I ran the risk of binging on everything else to try to get rid of a craving that I couldn't feed. But I solved the problem with the apple and peanut butter.
I wasn't able to get everything on my grocery list this weekend, because I bought health and beauty products that aren't a weekly thing and took me over budget. I was hoping to have salads for lunches, but unfortunately that didn't happen. Neither did the strawberries. I do still have stock of Atkin's Dark Chocolate Royale protein shakes that I like to mix with milk. Those are good and filling for a whole meal and also for evening time cravings to carry me through to bedtime.
Anyways, I'm hoping I have enough tools in my arsenal to pull off another good week and show another loss on Friday.
How are you all doing?

I'm in!!
We had quite a whirlwind weekend. It was dh's birthday so we spent the weekend in Halifax. We went on Friday and friends came on Saturday night. Had some good food, and good wine and am definitely wishing that I didn't have to work today! haha I am also starting with the rotten cold that is going around. Had a hard time sleeping last night due to my sinus'.
Anyway, throughout the whole weekend we really didn't eat that bad. The only meal that I splurged on was an Italian restaurant on Saturday night. I had penne with sausage. It was worth it.

@maureli sounds like you had a good weekend. You did great with only one splurge!
I'm still doing ok. As I said, I made some rice pudding in my new pressure cooker, and it turned out good. Had some of that. Also made a beef roast with potatoes and carrots, which was delicious. Just had a little leftovers of that for my lunch. Still staying on track pretty well, except for the soda. I'm still not logging. Got out of the habit and now I'm having a hard time finding the motivation to do it again. My morning glucose readings are coming down a bit. They were super high in the 180-190's for about 7-10 days out of no where. Today it was still high at 155, but doing better. Has been down to 135 in the past week. I still don't know why my morning readings were so high there for a while when I wasn't doing anything differently at all. Weird.
OT: My hair was all one length down to the middle of my back. My daughter, a hair stylist, chopped it off for me last night. Now it's about 2" long in the back and just to my chin in the front. Feels very refreshing! I was very sad though. I went to a Great Clips to see if they still did the free cut if I donated my hair. It was plenty long enough to donate, and I wanted it to go to good use. They wouldn't take my hair though because it has gray in it. I was really unhappy about that.
Just trying to keep on track and not do anything crazy or stupid with my eating. Good week so far.0 -
I'm in!
Started back at the gym yesterday!! Spin class = achy tushy today!!1 -
I made really good crispy chicken strips tonight, baked...no frying. Cut chicken strips (2 lbs). 1c flour in a large ziploc bag. Add chicken and shake to coat. 1 bowl, 3 eggs with 2 Tbsp water beaten together. another bowl, 2 c plain panko. Dip flour-coated chicken into eggs then dredge in panko to coat. Place on parchment paper lined baking sheet. 425F for 25 minutes. They turned out very crispy. The bbq sauce that went with it....1 c any regular bbq sauce, 1/2 c brown sugar, 1 tsp garlic powder, juice of 2 limes, heated. I just put it on the side and dipped my chicken. I didn't coat the chicken in the sauce. Then it would get soggy, especially for the leftovers.
So dinner was great. Then I had a candy bar when I was on my way to pick up my son from work.It was the first one I've had in a long time, well except for the candy at Christmas. oops forgot about all that crap. So yeah, one good thing, one bad thing.
@nadiamayl poor tushy! Great that you got back there though! Did you go again tonight?1 -
Hey ladies! I know I haven't checked in here in a while. Been down about surgery recovery and then on top of that broke up with the guy I've been seeing about 3 months. Soooo.. boo. But on the plus side I have been logging and tracking consistently and doing good on my macros and cals 6 days out of the week. Also since I can't lift for 3 more weeks I've been hitting the gym 2 days a week and doing extended cardio and legs workouts. I'm up to doing 40 mins of brisk walk/jog on the treadmill now and that feels really good. I'm just kinda putting my head down and trudging.. drinking enough water and staying focused on the things that keep me grounded. I know I'll be ok.. it wasn't a good fit with the guy so it's for the best. Didn't have any weight loss at my weigh in yesterday. But I'm at least holding steady. So hope you all have a great week!!!

Finding it hard to find back my rhythm. I did go back for a second torture spin session, went for a long brisk walk, and hit the treadmill twice. Been trying to drink my water again. Ratings been erratic, not super bad, but could be better.
Weekend back to soccer with a tournament for both boys.
Hoping to find a smoother pace next week! Goals: drink more water 60-80ounces. Go to spin twice and twice for a run (fast walk, haha)! Less sweets, dang it!
@Kerryatoon I missed something, what surgery?!?!? Hope you're feeling better.
@AZLisaLou that chicken recipe sounds yummy. I might try it this week!!
Let's have a great next week!!0 -
@NadiaMayl yes I had surgery to remove a lump on my chest wall.. turned out to just be a benign cyst.. but still a 1.5 inch incision and lift restrictions for 6 weeks. I'm feeling great just dealing with financial hardship from it.. and lift restrictions0

@Kerryatoon aw man!! Glad it was a benign cyst but still, must've been a lot of stress and now the after-math of it! I'm sorry! Now to get back up and at it again! Take care of yourself and go slow!1
