Hi 'Everyone'.
I'm Richard and have been Type 1 Diabetic for about 6 months now. Thought I had escaped it at 38, but it turns out that you can get it at any age and so here I am.
I'm on MFP to help me lose a little weight around the tummy, but also to keep track of my eating habits, since everything I eat now has a greater effect on my health.
Also, I'm training for my first triathlon, which is in April. Exercising most days has opened up a whole can of worms and it has taken me a while to learn how to avoid a hypo after exercising, but I seem to have that under control now.
I think that as a diabetic, you can't talk about it too much because there is always something to learn or an insight to be gained.
I look forward to chatting on here with you all (or both of you; I'm sure the group will grow)...

Hi, hope you don't mind me joining your group. I'm up in Manchester, but there didn't seem to be a group up here. I've been a type 1 for over 20yrs.0
