Only because you asked on MFP forum instead of Fitbit forum, about what Fitbit says to eat.

Fitbit side yes. You do more you eat more, you do less you eat less.

Life lesson there even when eating at maintenance level. You eat appropriately for your level of activity. A little less to lose weight.

MFP side yes too - if it's syncing in Fitbit data correctly, which many have an issue with.
If confirmed it's working - yes to same reasons.

Now, if by personal preference you'd like to eat the same amount daily because it's easier to plan and adhere, then by all means after some weeks of use and data, use your Fitbit emailed report of average daily burn for the week.
    Subtract 500.
    Eat that daily.
    Adjust each week.

When down to last 10 lbs left, subtract 250.

The less you have to lose, the slower you should purposely make it before the body forces it on you anyway, with negative side effects.
