Is it counting? (Flex)

I move around a lot but most of the time I have things in my arms/hands. At work, I'm always carrying a package from point a to point b. When I'm shopping, I'm pushing the cart. So, my arm (and thus my fitbit) are stationary. Does that mean these steps aren't being counted? If not, what can I do to remedy this?

Should be counting even if your arm is not moving. You should test it. Check the number of the steps at the initial point and then at the final point.

Carrying things, I haven't noticed it not picking up steps. Pushing a cart, it doesn't count for me. I either take my Fitbit off and put it in my pocket or push/pull the cart one-handed.

There are times I put mine in my pocket - pushing a cart has never counted for me, so I always do. If I'm stuffing envelopes at work, I put it in my pocket because it counts TOO much.
