Wind Analysis Add-On for Strava.

well - fairly new to me anyway... found a website that not only analyses your ride with respect to the effect that the prevailing wind conditions had when you rode it, BUT if you add a route or prior ride URL, it can actually analyse it with Current ride conditions - so, you can hopefully pick what will be a good route to take, or, if you've a fixed route you're doing, you can use the information to help with pacing...

as with most Strava Add-On's it works best if you link your strava account with it, whereupon it'll email you a link to your rides after they've been uploaded.
to see an example of a ride, follow this link - it's my sunday spin out and back - https://mywindsock.com/activity/872181634/
if you click the pulldown menu at the bottom of the page, theres an option for "Air Penalty" which shows how much benefit or penalty the wind has caused through the progress of the ride... in the above case, the blue line heads resolutely downwards, showing that I had a benefit of being 5.1km further along than I really should have been because of the tailwind. Then, I turned around, rode back in what I thought was actually slightly more sheltered roads, and not only lost the 5.1km benefit, but also an additional 883m - call it 6km worth of headwind on the way back...

Funky little utility, thanks for sharing, didn't seem as bad out as the predicted 40mph gusts that had been forcast today.0

well - it looks lovely out there... problem is, my backyard weather station has just registered a gust of 67mph, over sustained winds of 35-40mph. I see Zwift in my near future...0
