My name is Angel and I am a mother of 3 girls and have 2 beautiful step daughters. I am starting this journey in order for me to be able to not only get back in shape for myself but also in order for me to be able to help take care of the 8 grandchildren that my fiance and I have.
What has led me to starting this journey is the fact that I have a lot of physical limitations that I want to see if they can partially resolved by losing some of the excess weight. The people that have inspired me are my 5 children and 8 grandchildren. Also, my fiance has been an inspiration as he has told me that I am beautiful just the way I am, but feels that I may feel better if I could lose some of the weight. He was not being mean about it but he knows the struggles I have been going through.
Some other things that have caused me to want to go on this journey is the fact that my 14 yr old daughter and also my own mother has made comments about my weight making me even more self conscious than I already am.
I am looking for friends, support groups and anything that may help me on this journey.
Some of my goals are to start out small on losing the weight. I currently weigh 245 lbs. I believe that if I can start out small by setting my first goal at losing 10 lbs say within a month or so then I can set my goals higher. My long term goal is to lose 80 lbs and be able to keep it off.
Any and all support would be greatly appreciated.

I am going to try this. I have tried different things over the years and nothing seems to work for me. Most of the time I don't get the support, encouragement or the motivation that I need. It's one of those things of where I start doing really good for about maybe 2 weeks to a month and then because I don't see any changes, I give up thinking it isn't working. So I am hoping that I can keep going this time. I just need people who will be support me and be there through this whole journey.

The first couple of days went pretty well. Yesterday was a rough day but I still kept under calorie intake alottment. Back on track today and hoping that I can get closer to my calorie intake than yesterday as I did a little more exercising than I was eating. While I didn't seem hungry and even went out to eat last night with my family, I was still close to 700 calories under what I am allowed. So let's hope I have better luck today. I will try to keep everyone posted daily on how my journey is going.

I have noticed that I have lost inches moreso than anything but I am not giving up and I am getting ready to start week 3 tomorrow. This is the longest that I have ever stuck with anything in order to lose weight.1

So here I am one day away from completing my 3rd full week of this journey. I have lost approximately 2 pounds since starting this journey and I am able to tell. I am finally starting to see the changes that I am making and they are actually working for the better. I seem to feel better by the day, seem to normally have more energy throughout the day and don't seem to get tired out as quickly. However, I haven't noticed much of a change in my physical medical issues with this but I am not going to give up just because of that. I also know that I am not likely to lose anything this week and I am ok with that. Any little bit of weight loss at this point is going to help me.1
